I’m all for keeping the #7 but only for generational talents. We don’t need to force one every year

One of the most delusional takes I’ve seen on this board. Have you not watched any coverage of spring practice?

Ironic statement while TM7 is back in town. TM14 not as cool, huh?

Boutte?
He was about to quit the team and go to bama too until Gordon paid him to stay.

leave it be,no one has to have it this year, BTW go ahead and retire #9, at least unofficially for now, before that become a thing and argument

It's moronic that this had 16 upvotes. Give #7 to a Sophomore transfer from Nicholls? Jonathan Giles vibes all over again.
I guess 16 people liked what he did against K-State. What did he do in SEC play last year?

Turn your sarcasm meter back on.

You say it's sarcasm.. meanwhile there is another thread asking if Pig Cage is our most underrated player because of how he played against Kansas St.

Boutte is the only one deserving. I would’ve said that groupie Ricks had he not jumped ship

Boutte is the obvious choice for playmaker/gamechanger on offense. Seems other people are cautious about that due to Jamarr Chase & #7.
If not him, I think 7 goes to one of the experienced transfers. Maybe Daniels if he wins QB1. For Defense maybe Brooks or Bernard-Converse, although I like him in 24.

Some guy who hasn't played a snap at LSU that we pick up in the transfer portal.
Oh wait, we fired that guy...

Nobody cares. You think Boutte cares? You think Boutte even knows anything about it?
Who's gonna get 18?
Who's gonna get 9?
OMG - who's gonna get 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 or 19?

If y'all don't think there are some talented high school cornerbacks that know what the #7 means at LSU, then y'all are out of touch with reality.

and Todd Harris getting 7 on defense.
That’s as bad as giving it to Giles. We already diluted 18 by giving it to two players and now you want to do it to 7 by giving it to someone who doesn’t come close to meeting the playmaking criteria?

He specifically said he wanted it on Jordy Culotta’s show

When PP7 played here, most current HS CB's were 5-6 years old. When the Honey Badger wore it, they were 6-7 years old. When LF7 wore it, they were 12.
7 means something to you because you were probably in your 30's then. I know it's hard to disassociate yourself from this but most candidates for 7 or 18 don't know shite about Matt Mauck, Jacob Hester or Patrick Peterson.

Where do I mention the #18?
There have been several recruits over the past few years that were aware of the #7 and what it meant.
