Turner and in big games the sophomore tackles would struggle at times so JD had to scramble away from pressure and make a play in LSU's 4 toughest games of the year.

Oh man, I moved to Austin from New Orleans area to go to university. Are you that jealous you couldn't get into LSU or UT? I'm sorry dude. I'll tutor you and maybe we can get you through community college
So you want to make this into a dick measuring contest, I see. You are probably still in school and lack any real world knowledge or experience.
I just wanted to call you out on your obviously incorrect assessment of the OL play.
I am a graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a BS in Electrical Engineering and I also have a MBA from said university. I'm probably old enough to be your dad, so you can just call me daddy if you would like.

2023 saw one of the best offensive lines LSU has had in my 57 years of watching LSU. I’d put them tied for second, behind 2019, for the last 20 years.
The changes in the college game have really challenged fans’ ability to judge offensive lines. The emphasis on passing has caused defensive coaches to rely on special pass rush combinations that overwhelm offensive protection with numbers - sometimes rushing only four but bunching three of them.
The pressure resulting from this causes fans to blame the offensive line. In reality, these are gambles that cost the defense greatly when the offense outguesses them.

Honestly, you came out poorly. It’s on you.

Pass blocking was good to great, run blocking had more than a few moments of guys just getting beat. The short yardage situations highlighted this the most.
Bright future though.

lmao I'm in my early 30s bud. Are we supposed to be impressed you graduated from LA Tech? My dog could get into LA Tech with full tops.
If you wanna continue dick measuring I graduated with a double bachelors from UT in computer science and mathematics and my MSCS from GaTech. Do you want a cookie? If you are old enough to be my father this is kind sad that you are having an argument like this on a board about offensive lines.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Thanks for being reasonable and explaining something legit. I was just rewatching the FSU game and the bunches happened a lot and JD was able to scramble easily to the opposite side with CBs committed to man coverage.

Taking JD's attempts and yards away from the rushing offense stat the team still rushed for over 5 yards/attempt.

OL was above average on pass protection, below average on run blocking. Ex: take away JD’s scrambling against TAMU and the running backs gained 23 yds on 25 Carrie’s. Less than a yard per carry. They are weak at the point of attack. If they don’t get stronger next year the offense will be in trouble.

The O-Line is without a doubt B+ to A-. Probably the best unit of the team.
We ran it well and threw it great. Sacks came as Daniels was trying to find third options because the offense knew they had to make a play.
If JD thought it was possible to throw it away, punt, and get the ball back I bet sacks go way down.
Our left tackle played an entire year without a sack allowed. We have experienced guys that have produced at the highest level with depth that we haven’t seen.

I thought they got a lot better as the season went on. Had their moments sucking on the goal line, but overall they looked very good to me.

A- Blitz pickup was phenomenal this year. Better than I've seen at LSU in years. Run blocking at the 2nd level was also really good. They just struggled at times getting push in short yardage situations

Center was god awful against Bama and should have been replaced by the freshman.
Posted on 12/5/23 at 9:15 am to LSUTigresFan
I, too, am mixed on the oline. We need a center who can more than hold his own. I also am wondering how well we run-block as that will be a focus next year. We have the RBs, but can they get the push and create gaps necessary to sustain drives?

With Chester at C we will be much much better in short yardage. Chester will not get stood up and will get much better push. Heard at RT with Emory at RG will also be an upgrade. Much respect to our guys this year but those two changes make us much better next year
