Same here, except it's mostly because they just feel sorry for us. It's like having some sort of deformity. It's there, everyone sees it, but nobody wants to say anything because you've suffered enough and it would just be rude.

I know how you feel Rickdad but the OP didn't ask for that did he?

he asked about thoughts from those outside Louisiana and I answered honestly.

so you picked a 16 year period and listed the highlights. O has coached one year. and it was as good, or better than miles last 3 years. i'm not trying to build him up, i'm sticking with my story that he is ALREADY ON BOARD and we need to give the man a chance.

even you have agreed it was miles time to go. if O returns the team to a title contender he was the right choice; if he hangs around like miles was doing he needs to go also. neither has a damn thing to do with his resume' up to the point he was hired. it is NO LONGER RELEVANT.

he was 6-2 in the SEC west. 7-1 won it. the man should have been 11-2 this year, not 9-4. that should be held against him, NOT what he did at ole miss. if he continues to lose games he shouldn't and NOT beat bama, he should be canned.

oh, and forgive me, I forgot you lived in the Nashville ghetto and not Louisiana.

So O’s ceiling is Miles’s floor. Yay!

Hang around the sec rant for an afternoon. That should give you outsiders perspective on O

I have seen a good bit of your comments regarding O and I agree with most of them. I still don't understand why we had such a narrow focus on the hire.

Why wouldn't BOS consider NFL assistants (they seem to have a decent sucess rate) or up and comer coaches? I have never understood the reasoning behind the hire, so I am hopeful someone can extrapolate.

I really hope it works out and some way O is successful, because I don't see a great plan in place to hire someone capable to replace him

Geaux Tigers!

"Give Him a Chance" University. That's what we are now. It's where you have to prove you should be fired rather than prove you should be hired. It's where anyone with any connection to LSU or even just Louisiana can come try their hand at coaching any position and get top tier pay. Previous experience and performance, unimportant.

USC love the SOB. They wanted him as the head coach. The players, alumni, and media. If it wasn't for Pat Hayden USC would be winning championships every year like Bama.

People outside the south might catch one or two LSU games a year.

Their opinion is irrelevant

When he was hired everyone around me said that they “were so happy for O. Got his dream job and he cares so much.” Now those same people all make fun of me. LSU needed to hire someone that would make the rest of the sec say “oh shite”. O didn’t do that.

Who the hell cares what other schools think? Winning will make people take notice and say, "Oh shite!". 2017 was not so noticeable. Another chance in 2018 and probably 2019. No guaranteed chances after.

When Orgeron was hired, some of our rival fans (the ones that weren't laughing their arses off) were wishing him well. That's how little they're threatened about Orgeron.

We should've been looking for a coach that people hate or think is overrated. Those are usually the good ones.

So you’re predicting 10+ wins this year?

Everyone I know outside of Louisiana tells me they can’t believe we actually hired him and wonder what the AD was thinking. They say it’s sad because of what we were and what we could be with competent leadership.
You made this up completely, or at the very least embellished.

Very few folks outside of the most fevered SEC fans know a damn thing about our football coach, and few of them would make a quote on our 'leadership'

Hiring Ed Orgeron was and is a big mistake until he wins the SEC.

Let's just forget about the two historic loses last year. And continue to blindly cheer for our current mediocrity.

You must hang with stupid people, because the defense has been the only bright spot for LSU football for quite some time.

I take that as a compliment cause I sure as hell wouldn’t tell some random Nebraska fan that his team sucks.

Well, they just hit it out of the park by hiring Scott Frost. Nebraska won’t suck much longer. Our ceiling is no where near as high as theirs as long as we have O and the Geriatric fitch gang leading us.

it is not what we are....
it is reality, HE IS THE COACH and none of us can do a damn thing about it.

I am pulling for him to do well, otherwise I'd be pulling against LSU.

if he does not, there will be (FUTURE) another story.

too late for the crying, time to stop
