Our tigers really came to play. They were well prepared, executed a great game plan and dominated the three facets of the game. This despite fielding a ton of green faces. Kudos to our coaches and our team. We are going to have a good year. I think its clear that Aranda and Canada are best of breed.

Going forward, we gotta bulk up our recruiting. I'm concerned that our assistants are more short term oriented and not putting in the hours to out recruit the Bamas etcs. This may reflect their short term outlook, as they are likely going to bounce in a year or two to a HC position or NFL position. This is the main problem with the Orgeron strategy to have the best assistants. We will be burning over coaches quite soon. Other teams can utilize this fact to out recruit us. Do you really think Aranda will be sticking around another 4 years to coach your son? Nonetheless, lets enjoy this year while we have him.

Name an elite team who's assistant coaches do not fluctuate. Good leaders succeed but also promote from within.

I said at the beginning of the year that our staff was too good and that we should have hired a career OC from the MEAC and replaced Dave Aranda with Kevin Steele. That's before we even discuss Corey Raymond (likely gone after the year and will take all the recruits he's been recruiting with him - can you say bye bye DBU?). All other top schools the head coach does 80 - 90% of the work and only hires position coaches and coordinators for appearances. Hiring "the best" only leads to mediocrity.

You all laughed at me. Now who's laughing?

Alabama has literally had 3 offensive coordinators in their last 3 games.

Clown thread, bro.

This statement implies that you've been proven correct. What have you seen that shows this team/program is mediocre? It also implies that this weekend is what proved you correct. If anything, it proved you wrong.

No it implies that i am correct. Holding BYU to under 100 yards while impressive wasn't necessary. It only makes Dave Aranda more desirable as a head coaching candidate which hurts LSU. Steele might have given up a touchdown or maybe 10 points but we still would have won the game. Same result (W) but STABILITY at the coordinator position in the long term.

I was please with our red zone difficulties and penalties - if that continues all year then we might have Canada for a bit longer.

So, you're saying you want LSU to be good, but not great so that we can keep the "good, but not great" coordinaters longer and in turn that will make LSU better in the long run than they are now? Seems counter intuitive to me.

This is ridiculous

Somehow I just glossed over the suggestion of firing the best coordinator in college football and replacing him with the guy he already replaced.

Troll effort. No actual "Thoughts on BYU" and rather than the "state of LSU" OP is more focused on the possible terrible "future" of LSU.

Yeah, and I'm gonna get rid of my hot wife and replace her with a big fat bitchy gal with acne - she will surely stick around longer - and I'm sure I will enjoy the experience - future will be much brighter!
