It was the right play...it didn't work out

Given his horrid hitting against lefties, he should’ve been taken out and pinch hit for.

Absolutely not. He wasn’t going to see that lefty again and if they wanted to go left/right matchups for 6 innings that’s an advantage for LSU.

If LSU were to lose this game, that was a HUGE half inning, and a HUGE at bat by Brown. Hopefully, that does not come back to bite us. Geaux Tigers....

You have to get the bunt down there, period! You aren’t bunting down line for a hit, it’s just dropping it in play!! Move runners, eliminate double play chances. Whoever said JJ made a decision because he was “irritated at Jake” in a CWS game is low IQ casual fan. JJ don’t make decisions like that In games that count I assure you.

You’re acting like it’s a guarantee Brown gets a hit when it’s more likely he strikes out or rolls into a DP.
Had he done either of those, you’d be here bitching that they let him swing against a lefty when it’s known he’s terrible against them.

Arkansas did the same thing. Happens a lot in that stadium, especially when the wind is blowing in.
The more you know.

Hey dumbass....he normally doesn't bat against left handed pitchers because he doesn't hit them well, yet. The only choice was pinch hit for him, or bunt him. He wanted to keep him in the game, so he rolled the dice.

His hitting has been poor against lefties. If you actually get it down it’s hard to get the double play. Too bad he made a poor effort.

Yet it happens all the time in the CWS, even by teams that generally don’t do it.
Weird.

so a batter, whom struggles against lefties but you want to keep in line up for later matchups, is up to bat. runners on 1st and 2nd, no outs. batter has tendency to ground into DP when facing lefties, wind is blowing in and you think that there is no baseball logic to bunting???
yea stfu, you dont know shite either. if it was a RH batter up or brown was facing a RHP, that would be different.
every part of baseball logic and analytics says you bunt there.

You can go look at millions of data points if you would like
You are lowering your run expectancy by bunting 1st and 2nd no outs. Period.

not with jake at bat who struggles against lefties.
normally i would agree and with anyone else in the lineup, i would agree, but jake struggles too much against lefties.
Jay would rather him foul bunt strikeout than let him hit.
btw I hate bunting, unless its to score an actual run. Hate it, hate it, hate it. but in that situation i think it was right call.
