Those worried about the new hire. If politics stays out of it, we will be fine

I keep seeing references to Cholly Mac, and the 90s, etc, etc. Lets revisit:
1) Like with Miles, it was time for Cholly Mac to go. LSU hired a stud in Bo Rein. He dies in a plane crash. The board then pressured to hire the 'local Heisman guy'.
2) But we recovered with Arnsparger. Yet on his way out TO FLORIDA (also in the SEC), the board took his recommendation of hiring a never before head coach
3) Then the downward cycle began: Archer, Hallman, Dinardo. Dinardo did some good, but like Miles success went to his head, and the program started sliding
4) Then we found Saban (or he found us). And after he dicked us around, we settled on Miles. Who stayed longer than his skills warranted. But because politics got involved, he was saved for a few painful months. And we may have lost out on a Jimbo/Herman
So if the board stays away from former players, lowball offers, and optics, a quality coach will find the LSU search committee. Rein, Arnsparger, Saban, & Miles are nothing to sneeze at when you think about it

This is Louisiana. Politics staying out of anything is hard to do.

So basically the board has failed at the football coach thing for 30+ years except the one time we had to make a hire when Mark Emmert was here.
Yeah, I'm concerned.
Yeah, I'm concerned.

Believe so...don't know if it's been confirmed, but I've seen that several places
