This was our 4 trip to Ttown, we always enjoy the trip no matter the outcome of the game.

Tailgate
Grumps have tame tailgating with lame music (Sweet Home Alabama heard 15 times throughout the day. Tiger tailgates sounded like a rave jamming out and having fun.

Team entrance
Grumps no band just team walking into stadium to AC/DC Thunderstruck was very generic.

Pregame
Billion $ band not that impressive hard to hear did not have the build up of excitement that the Tiger Band brings to pregame and a lot of old Paul Bear Brant videos that were hard to hear.

Sideline DJ/Cheer leader annoying. Light show was cool.

Game
Grumps have the Roll Tide cheer down pat since they had a ton of First Downs but no real distinguished cheers for other downs or change of possessions that I noticed like we have for every down.

Grumps around us (upper deck) were nice to us and seamed a little nervous and reserved at first but got cocking once up by 14 in the 4th quarter which was understandable, I would be too if we were about to win.

Did not show the late hit on JD5 on the video board so we really did not know how bad it was till we listen to post game on radio on the way home which brings me to traffic out of the area, it is just as bad as Baton Rouge.

Overall it does not compare to the pageantry of Tiger Stadium but it is the best away game experience you will find in the SEC.

My son's jaw dropped what he witnessed last night..."this is awesome"

He's been to 3 LSU Bama games in TS...

I ask the board because its obvious to me LSU better take notes...and ponder..."are we bringing the best experience for our fans?"

I love LSU...

Just got to tip my hat...the game environment was special

I'll say this...Bama fans told us it was the best BDS has ever been..

That's because its LSU...and a great offense!

I know of three younger fans that went to BDS for the first time, after being in TS a good bit in their lives. They all three said it was much louder and the fans were great to be around. Said at LSU you can move around because people leave, said all stayed the entire game there.

I keep hearing about “piped” in music. Music is music, who gives a frick how it gets to you.

So when the band is not playing, which is a hell of a lot, who doesn’t want music when you’re basically in a party / festival atmosphere.

Do y’all complain about the Mardi Gras floats that play their own music on the float as well?

People bitch and moan about piped in music in Death Valley. You don’t have a clue what piped in music is until you take a trip to BDS. Piped In Music U.

Piped in music is just part of college football now and has been for sometime, whether we like it or not. It’s the rule, not the exception. It’s starting to become amusing that people still complain about it, but that’s me.

This is also what’s confusing about people still complaining. We hear all the time how the LSU band has been completely replaced by piped in music.

They still play after every snap of the game.

First class, they don’t nickel and dime you like LSU either. Free water dispensers at the top of the ramps and complimentary phone chargers in the concourse. The in game experience was very good as well, they have something exciting during the timeouts. In tiger stadium it’s almost a given I’ll be bored to tears for 3 minutes as soon as the red hat comes out.

We were in the top of south upper deck, and when they played Dixieland Delight the whole upper deck was bouncing. It was a very strange feeling. Like, the not a little bouncing b/c people were jumping up and down on the bleachers and the seats were moving, but the actual structure was moving. You could look up at the flag poles at the very top of the stadium and the poles were swaying back and forth. We looked around, and people were genuinely kind of nervous. Maybe the Bama fans who normally sit there were used to it, but we were in the LSU visitors area, and the LSU people we were around were all saying, this feels odd. Maybe it is supposed to move like that, but being up that high and feeling the concrete structure you are on moving, it's weird and kind of gives you that sinking feeling in your stomach...

Due to the timing of when they decided to play it right after the TD that ended up being one of the louder Dixieland Delights I've experienced. The place just exploded and I think it had a tangible impact to the momentum of the game.
YT - 2023 Bama-LSU Dixieland Delight

Now for sheer fan noise the loudest game I've ever attended was from the 4th quarter on last year in BR, but Saturday was pretty close to a peak SEC gameday experience IMO. Saban asked the fans to step up before the UT game and its been loud ever since. Josh Pate said it was the loudest he's heard a stadium this year.

I'd also add everything that was mentioned about the tailgating being corporate is exactly true because they sold all the tailgating spots on the quad to a company who charges you for the tent and setup. All the spots are nice and clean, but its as pre-packaged as a frozen pizza because the university figured out how to monetize it. I hope for your sake LSU doesn't ever do that because it destroys part of the atmosphere pre-game IMO.

Truly hope that outside of the game results everyone who came to Tuscaloosa enjoyed themselves and didn't have any bad experiences. With all the uncertainty of what will happen with schedules moving forward who knows if we will get to experience these games every year in the future, have to appreciate them win or lose because these games at night are special.

Somebody needs to spread message/rumor that Sweet Home Alabama is all up in the white supremacy movement as I like the song and singing it before the game in the stadium kind of ruins the song for me.

lol. no. It was okay. I think the biggest difference was their game ops. It was very professional and well done. Speakers were very clear but honestly a little too loud in Dixieland Delight. From the score updates to the showing of replays that favored Bama it was top notch.
I don't get the obsession with lights. Is it cool? Sure. But I'm not going to a game to see a light show. I can go to a concert for that. I actually prefer the old school lights.
Also, they did pipe music a lot and I don't really remember hearing their band. I am not in favor of this in DV but I would like upgraded for when the band can't play.
Overall, it just doesn't have the feel of a college football game to me. Felt more professional/showy. I would give it a 7/10 experience. Concessions looked pretty quick and bathrooms were plenty.
traffic: we sat in traffic longer than we ever have leaving DV.

Tailgating scene is very weak
That stadium for LOUD!
They played other games going on pre game on the big screens.
LSU needs to figure out how to turn Chimes street, by the gates, into something like the Strip on bama’s campus or the Northgate at atm, or any other central place to hang out on most campuses. That entire area was packed Friday afternoon thru Saturday night after the game. Bars, restaurants, retail, something for everyone. Only thing that sucked was the ridiculous cover charges to get in some of those places.

Been going down there since 1988 (well, 1980 was there, too). Other than 2009 they were the nastiest and trashiest I've dealt with down there. Generally they are pretty nice, but Saturday they were just confrontational. Not everyone. But it was pretty hostile.

Nice stadium,though.

They must've only attended games in TS that were against rent-a-win teams. BDS can get loud at times, but it can't touch TS in terms of pure, unhinged, chaotic noise. Jordan-Hare is the only other stadium I've been in that even comes close.

Now, when it comes to aesthetics, BDS is hands down the top of the SEC. I'd say that Sanford Stadium at UGA would be runner-up.

I remember feeling this during Dixieland Delight at the 2013 LSU game. I was in a box, but you could feel the stadium moving. Trippy.

You're right, but it just seemed constant with Bama.

The crowd isn’t nearly as loud as the crowd in Tiger Stadium. LSU was playing on offense with minimal crowd noise in the second quarter and early 3rd when the game was still on the line.

I’m sorry, but this is laughably incorrect. How many snap infractions did we have? The JD interception was one of the loudest stadium pops I’ve ever heard, maybe going back to the 2008 game in Tiger Stadium. As others have mentioned, the noise felt well sustained, although manufactured at times. The light show coming back from a timeout was intimidating and something we need to implement, IMO.

Loud it was, frenzied it was not. The only 3 crowd eruptions were the Daniels INT, Dixieland Delight, and throwing Kid Rock up on the video board - amirite?

This was not a Tiger Stadium-on-the-edge-of-delirium night, the home crowd was quite composed with the lead. Had LSU led Bama by 2 TDs in Death Valley anytime in a game Neck and OEO would be sung nonstop with or without band accompaniment and the joint would be rocking. The BDS crowd never got anywhere near that froth, but down-for-down - for the entire game - their crowd was into it and I dug it.

Tiger Stadium rarely sounds that loud on a 2nd down, and just about never on 2nd downs for an entire game…hats off!

Hoped upon hope that our offense would shut the crowd up, but that’s asking a lot with only 28 points production.

Seats on the 40 lower bowl halfway between the bands.
