I actually meant that the Hilton is a dump... they need to do some serious renovations to that place. I stayed there a few months ago and half the lights didn't work, the water was cold, and the elevators were scary.

You can book (at AAA/Marriott Rewards rates) rooms at the Townplace suites starting at $299.
Be aware that getting out of that shitshow will take as long as it takes to get out of Tiger Stadium, if not longer. Almost all Aggy fans drive from Houston, and three miles down the freeway will make you think you're on Nicholson drive southbound.
Although, I am on a party bus that is leaving from Katy, TX in the morning and returning the same night that may have extra seats....

Well shite. I stayed there 3 years ago on a work trip and it was a bit outdated but manageable. Oh well, we’ll make the best of it.
