Your comments would be appreciated.
My comment is that people who complain about other people standing and ask them to sit down should be immediately thrown out of the stadium.

Unless they're standing up in front of you while the game is on, and they're using binoculars to find friends in the stadium or scoping the cheerleaders. It has to be pretty much that kind of rudeness before you make a comment about standing.

You stand in front of me and I'll take your legs out.If you are drunk it won't be too hard

No BS...during the 4th quarter of the Alabama game last year I was bitched at for standing by the people behind me (I do not even stand the entire game). It was the most crucial point in the whole season, and I was screaming my lungs out to help the team. This moron behind me, who curses so much during games that we have never brought my niece to a game, told me to sit down. I told him no (in a not polite manner).
My mom is 59 years old, and has knee problems and if she can stand during crucial parts of the game, anyone can. If you can make it up the stairs to your seat, then you can stand during crucial parts of the game. If you can't, then you definitely shouldn't bitch at people who do.

quote:Actually, I won't. I was raised by people who are now those same old and tired people, and they insist that everyone stand whether they can see or not. They understand that the spectacle of the LSU Football game does not exist for their convenience alone. They much prefer being able to share the legendary environment of Tiger Stadium and not be able to see some plays (if necessary), to having a clear and unobstructed view of the whole game at the expense of others around them being able to make as much noise and support as possible.
eventually you'll get old and tired too. Then you'll know what the people bitching are talking about.
But they are also people who were themselves taught lessons about putting the interests of others (particularly large groups of others) ahead of their own selfish convenience.
So I can give you a guarantee right now that I will never be the jackass sitting in my seat calling the marshals. It's more fun for me to help the people around me have fun than to ruin their good time just because I can.

quote:So what about the non-traditional students who are themselves old and don't have the legs to stand the whole time? Is it okay to be inconsiderate of them just because they choose to sit in a special area where standing all the time is important?
Um...in the student section you should only stand. Totally different rules in the student section.
The point is, the same way you feel about the student section, many of us feel about all of Tiger Stadium. That is what gave Tiger Stadium it's legendary reputation in the first place, and if that sense of the entire stadium being special ever dies, the reputation and magic of Tiger Stadium will die with it.

doesn't matter cus you totally fricked up what you trying to say. i hate when students get pissed about standing in front of them, i tell them to get the frick on if they want to sit. but im sure i wont be standing too much longer my self.

I think people should stand if they want to.......I have to stand some when they won't sit down......but to stand all the time is not necessary....what does standing do? It only annoys people behind the stander.........so the stander should sit some....but when there is a good paly...off or dof...then stand if you want to....then SIT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!

stand and cheer whenever and however long you want. if you want to sit down through the whole entire game stay home

They are young and to a degree usually inconsiderate of those around them. Enjoy those young legs while you've got them ya'll...eventually you'll get old and tired too. Then you'll know what the people bitching are talking about. I know because I was one of you once. You'll eventually learn that standing during celebratory times and presnap big plays are enough. If you sit in the student section though...stand all you want. Whole different set of rules for the student section.
Well stated. Two of my favorite fans were an elderly couple who sat next to us on the east side for many years. She was in the homecoming court of 1951 and the gentleman was in the band. They never left early, sat through the rain and cold and rarely missed a game. There was a jerk who occasionally used the seats in front of them and his drunk vulgar arse thought it was incumbent upon him to stand for the whole 3 hours. I offered to switch seats with them but they always refused. I hope there is a place in hell for this moron. I try to forgive inconsiderate jerks, I figure they were just raised poorly.
A couple of years ago some young men showed up in the seats, I asked about the couple, it turned out to be their grandparents, the lady had died and the gentleman didn't want to go to the game without her.

My Dad is 5" tall & chooses to sit in the lower west gold section. He has been a season ticket holder for over 50 years. He will DAMN WELL stand if he wants to, & he does. Never sits while the ball is in play.

Back in the day we made fun of the fuktard Aggies that stood for the entire game. Sad to see that it's come to this in Tiger Stadium.
A lecture is wasted on you little inconsiderate twits. Your day will come when you'll be too old to stand for the entire game and you'll miss the winning play because of some young zipperhead standing in front of you.

I don't have a problem with that as long as he doesn't have a problem with me (6'3") and my buddy 6'4" standing in front of him.
