to field almost every ball. I assume he thinks he is getting into position to block a bad hop, but he never actually has his body in front of it and he rarely fields it cleanly. He needs to be on the bench, but if not, he needs to stay on his feet.

That probably won’t help with his horrible throwing though.

A decent high school infield wins this game tonight.

His mechanics are flat out awful. He’s always in a rush and never gets his feet underneath him. The kid has a cannon. No need to be in a hurry on every attempt. It’s obviously in his head now as his confidence is shot.

Maybe JJ needs to pull out his own book.

Fire up the VHS. It's time.

I remember seeing those commercials and begging my dad to buy me those videos.

Our shortstop slides to the ground almost on every play. Our second baseman is playing goalie during sudden death penalty kicks and goes the wrong way, and our third baseman well is not a third baseman.

Thompson is giving the opposing teams 2-3 extra outs every game. Bench time.

Yeah Doughty always reads liners to his right and ends up making it very awkward on himself. He usually recovers and makes the play, but he makes it much harder on himself than it should be.

It’s flawed. Stud college infielders can make those plays without doing what he does. Just facts. Watch elite players and big leaguers. They don’t have to do that.

If he was a big leaguer he wouldn’t be at LSU bud.

How many big leaguers went to college? Dumb statement. Bregman, Swanson, etc and that is just one draft class. Dj Lamehiu, Justin Turner, Brandon Belt, and on and on and on.

Nobody born after 1995 knows what a VHS is.

Non-elite players make those plays without doing it. Time to give anyone else a shot.

There isn’t another SEC caliber SS on the roster. The only hope left is bench Thompson for a couple of games and hope it sparks something with him.

If not we’re going to get bad defensive play from SS no matter who’s out there.

I am as frustrated as you are with his fielding but there's no one better that can take his place. Not on this roster.

He has a hot bat but his errors make me want to rip my hair out.

I sure don't want Bianco there. He's been cold at the plate all season.

Unfortunately I think this is what we have to deal with. No disrespect to anyone but there's no one better on this roster.

Maybe he'll turn a corner.

Seems like it's in his head at this point. Overthinking things.
