This Transfer Portal bullcrap is insane. The NFL doesn't even run like this.

Players can leave any freaking time they want to. How can you build a team like this? How can a coach build depth like this? Kids are leaving just to leave.

It really is insane. The fact that NIL has become straight pay for play and there’s no policing tampering or anything like that. Unlimited transfers. Those are bad enough.
But then you give players the ability to enter the portal and return to the same school and give them a whole month to do so, and everyone is going to start doing it every year. You know who tests free agency when they hit it in the pros?
Every single player who hits free agency. And under current rules in cfb every 5 months every single player is a free agent. It’s nuts.

I have been bitching about this since the TP became a thing. CFB has less roster control than any professional sport where players are compensated.

For all those saying this is beating a dead horse... shut up. The transfers and "NIL" money is getting absurd and absolutely ruining the sport. 18 year old kids are begging for money from families that need it so they can buy a Mercedes or Lambo (I'm looking at you, Texas) embody everything wrong with the current state of the sport. I know we all love LSU and we need to continue voicing our concerns about transfer portal and NIL until something is done about it

Teams can also pull scholarships anytime they want to, penalty free unlike the NFL

Players need to sign contracts in high school. 1-3 years deal with guaranteed amounts.
Only exception to transfer is if the head coach changes

If the program is so worried about players leaving, then why are scholarships only offered as 1 year deals?

Aasaannnd there is is folks. The “I don’t like that 18 year old are making more money in 1 year than I will in a lifetime” real reason you all are upset.
