Maybe Paul likes hiring these guys so he can surround himself with "yes men"? I have no idea. What I do know is what he's been doing isnt working.

This would be my concern just as it is on the football staff. However, I think it worked out last year, just not going so well this season. There's still time to turn it around, but that time is running out very fast.

Eta: Obviously CPM gets WAY more rope than the football staff due to past success.

You realize you just made a point by saying it would be typical of Mainieri to let Dunn go.

Can’t come back from that

I think it worked better with Gibbs because he had a more balanced approach. I think Ochinko just has them up there with the approach to just smash.

No, you're wrong. The point was he has no issue hiring former players. I wouldn't be surprised if when Dunn leaves, he hires a former pitcher to replace him. A mediocre former pitcher. IM NOT SAYING DUNN IS LEAVING OR SHOULD. Let that part sink in really deep before you respond.

Nah, snowflake, I didn't have to look up your posting history.

Your posts are so mega-clueless that I remember them. In a sea of stupidity your posts stand out.

I think CPMs rope is longer because its baseball. The admin isn't as concerned with baseball as they are football. They know if football falls off too much, they'll lose a shite ton of money therefore they have to act quickly.

At this time lst year everyone on here wants gibbs fired too. Did you think he was a bad hitting coach? Would you have replaced him after getting to the title game last year?

No, his rope is longer because he is a top 10 all time winning coach who has brought lsu to two different title games and multiple other college world series

Fair point. I did think Gibbs did well last season. I would not have gotten rid of him. Maybe I'm just frustrated with Ochinko's approach as opposed to Gibbs.

That's my opinion as well. I'm a huge fan of Paul and think he's a great coach.

I think Paul is a good coach. I just think it's mind blowing how he's hired so many former players. Somebody explain to me how this is a bad way to think? Please

Im just not sure where in the timeline you replace gibbs with one of the best in the country weeks before the season starts. Not to mention he hasnt had 2-3 of his good bats for most of the year so far

I agree Josh. The timing sucked. You do make solid points. Like I said, I'm probably just overly frustrated with Ochinko's approach.

So a coach who has gotten his team to 5 straight national seeds and 3 CWS appearances the last 5 years....not to mention runner up last year, shouldn’t have a long rope? Wow..the ignorance is strong in this one.

Does that help? Absolutely but let's not act like that if CPM has three rough years and a CFB coach has three rough years, they will make a baseball move as swift as a football move.

Money talks and football is the cash cow.
