I think if you're 16-14 in SEC play and win forty regular season games, you're in the top sixteen.
LSU has done poor enough OOC and enough damage to their RPI that there’s no chance we host a regional at 16-14 this season

And honestly, they don’t deserve it at this point
I’m less concerned about the team performance than the cause for it.
It might have been 100% coach speak but we had no reason to think the team was quite this bad.

frick off with this. “At this point” doesn’t mean shite. Every team Jay has had has improved over the course of the season, dramatically in a couple of cases. We don’t know where that will land today, so this is all just bullshite conjecture. And after a game that wasn’t a loss.

This team can afford whatever midweek loss they want. They can’t afford many more series losses in conference.

But even a dramatic improvement still probably wouldn’t be enough to host a regional. That’s how poor we are. WE WENT FROM NUMBER ONE IN THE COUNTRY TO UNRANKED IN A WEEK! THAT’S the degree of trainwreck we are talking about, and it has literally gotten worse since then.
Super regional host is already completely dead. Already the sunshine pumpers are left to do nothing but pitch an argument why they can appear in the tournament as a non host.
Most have abandoned even a regional host even this early….but you are doubling down.

RPI is a garbage metric and honestly doesn’t make a lick of sense. There are a dozen teams ahead of LSU in the RPI who have worse records against Q1, 2, 3, and 4 opponents than LSU does. RPI essentially awards teams for getting their arse beat by good teams

The RPI won’t be atrocious at 14 sec wins. The RPI jumped 30 spots winning 2/3 vs Kentucky. They need to win 3 or 4 vs Tennessee and Ole Miss on the road. They need to beat A&M 2/3 at home. They need to win 1 @ MS State. They need to sweep South Carolina at home. They need to finish this season 3-3 vs Georgia & UF. That gets you to 16 to 17 SEC wins and you’re hosting a regional. A little worse, you’re in but traveling. A little better you might be a top 8. Still a long way to go.

The funny thing is that the only reason he started the thread is bc we were down 6-1 early in the game & he panicked...like he ALWAYS does. He stopped posting when we started scoring runs.
