on Beloso. It’s only a matter of time before he starts hitting well. Isn’t he a career .300+ hitter?

cause he hit a homerun? OK cool he got a trophy yall...let's see if that barely above 200 average is gonna work against sec pitching after facing po dunk teams ??

quote:close enough but I agree he should start until someone beats him out, never disagreed...just said he doesn't hit well , he just a freshman....also it was the walk off that made a difference
And 0.262 is not "barely" over 0.200.

Beloso hit .279 his freshman year and .313 last year.
Why do you just make up numbers and try to pass them off as fact?

How about this year...he is batting 229ish
His sec average was barely over 200 as a frosh and he batted horribly thru regionals and super reg. Why don't u post those averages...

Dude picked a bad time to quit the team. He would have gotten plenty of chances to show out these past 4 games.

Thompson while he hit what 3 hrs...barely batting over 200.
Once again, he does not belong in this discussion. He's hitting .262 (not barely over 200), 5 HR (not 3). Considering his best tool coming in was his defense, these numbers are outstanding.
Last week in 5 games, he hit .381, 3 HR, 6 runs, 3 stolen bases, all while playing an errorless shortstop. But he only earned POTW honors because of a walk-off?

Anyone who knows anything about baseball, knows that OBP is the more important metric. What dumbass wants to bench a player with an OBP over .400? For the simple-minded, that means he reaches base over 40% of the time.
You are a CLOWN.

quote:I'd like to assume that, too. But he wasn't getting any chances vs Texas Southern or UNO, so I'm not so sure how much time he would have gotten in the last week. Either way, it sucks to not have an extra RH batter.

Me too. Last post won the argument. But, all of you who come in here and try to act like you are God’s gift to evaluating baseball and criticize others for having an opinion are laughably ridiculous.
Even if Travinski was hurt, he’s not anymore. Regarding Beloso, sure he’s hit some balls hard, but he also has shown no flashes of the same power he had this year. Which is particularly concerning considering the fact that the Box has turned into Coors Field.
Simply suggesting someone is an idiot for acknowledging his problems and providing their ideas for an alternative is ridiculous.

Where was the obp in 2020? Surely you don't think we made the supers on hitting? Why didn't your obp help lsu best hitters fla state?: lol:
What about 2019? Nope
2018....nope....
Show me where obp helped lsu win where it counted...you cant...again name calling is too cute...you lack of knowledge in how to run a team exudes ignorance. I'd go so far as to say he would be next guy in but noway he should start...we will see if hitting especially with runners in scoring position or obp wins games in the sec this year...
"OH but coach he should start, he got on base from walks and errors" gtfoh lololol

Beloso while hitting the ball hard is hitting barely above 200....bench
What is his OB%?
Hint, it’s .408 which is 5th highest on team
Dig down on that & remove Hampton, Gio & Travinski due to their limited AB’s & he has
3rd highest behind Crews & Morgan
quote:
Thompson while he hit what 3 hrs...barely batting over 200...can play short tho...he will start
.281 is more than barely over .200
It’s also 5th highest BA on the team
He has 5 HR’s behind Doughty’s 7 & Crews 6
His OB% is .349
quote:
Milazzo....batting 0 for the century...sorry but I'll take a mistake or 2 from HT while he makes up for it with his hitting..bench
You are taking 1 game & using it as a reason to bench our starting catcher
Yes, Travinski looked great but the kid was just cleared to play
quote:
Drost....barely over 200...bench
.275 is more than barely over .200
I am thinking we see less of him as Gio plays more, he has done what was asked of him while Gio was out

This teams weakness is the bull pen at the moment. As far and you an deaux trolling me on every post I make

He was cleared by doctors to catch 5 innings behind the plate last night. That’s hardly “not hurt anymore”.

Cade only has 18 hits and 8 are bombs. just wow.

You just shifted the goal posts from BA vs OBP to BA w/ RISP vs OBP. Obviously timely hitting is extremely important but that wasnt the conversation.

Just to show how ignorant you are, errors arent calculated in OBP. But you DEFINITELY know more about baseball than everyone else here, boy!
