Floyd taken out after leaving an 0-2 pitch over the plate. Wanted to see what the Freshman could do. Let’s take seasoned SEC pitcher out who’s 5-0 and up by 3 for a freshman….

Jobert’s 3 run “error” which ended up costing a 4th was the biggest issue.
Herring threw a lot of good pitches. Gave up some soft hits.

Hindsight is 20/20. Floyd is as gifted as they come at leaking runs. You think he might be doing alright navigating in and out of trouble but you look up after he walks off the mound and he gives up 4 or 5 runs and can’t get through 5 innings.
The truth is there’s not one reliable pitcher on this roster outside of Skenes. And even his last two starts have yielded about 6 or 7 earned runs in about 9 innings of work.
There’s no way this team can remain number one with a pitching staff that gives up this many hits, walks and hbps, especially if the defense is gonna keep making mistakes behind them.

It was 6-2 with two outs and Floyd missed on an 0-2 pitch over the plate making it 6-3 and he was taken out in the 5th.
