It isn’t an investment.
It cannot have a return on investment.

What’s the point of “frick you” money if you don’t say, “frick you?”

They made their money and now they use it to buy prestige/power.

What do you think they were giving away before NIL?

Look, I agree with you on a foundational level. The amount of money some of these people have and the myriad ways they make it is hard to fathom.

Also, who’s to say they DON’T have some mechanism to make some ROI. Even if they break even but the prestige/power is more valuable than the $$, it’s a subjective win for them.

Again, not all of these people, but SOME.

Ok....you have your opinions. We will see. Most half way intelligent people believe the same as me on that...it is new, but eventually, especially teams that aren't winning, will start having less funds. Time will tell. To me it is just common sense, but I'm a former CPA so....who knows.

I'm sure there will always be some. I just don't think it is sustainable at the level it currently is without any tangible roi. jmo

I can’t speak of ROI at economy of scale but when my kid wants food after little league, soccer, and pee wee football it is always Cane’s.

When I order platters for social or work things it’s always Cane’s. My $ can support anything, I prefer it goes to folks who support LSU.

Yes, it is an investment. The desired benefit is good football.

You don’t have to have a monetary benefit in order for something to be an investment.

I would highly recommend you read and learn the actual definition of “investment” before saying something this stupid again.

I dont know if id say thankfully. There are a ton of hard life lessons of athletes making many many millions and broke after 5 years of no longer playing their sport...it cost money to pay all their boys
