Look at what he did at Hawaii and Utah State too.

He's been elite every where.

More often than not, we are on opposite sides of the issue, but what a nice -- and apt, turn of the phrase. I chuckled.

You play the hand your dealt. He's been successful everywhere he's gone. No reason to think that he would suddenly go brain dead and falter here given the caliber of athlete he is inheriting.
Sure, he'll need time to adjust to the speed and athleticism of the SEC but the guy seems to make adjustments accordingly and get the most out of his players.
I cant imagine any of our guys wouldn't want to play for this coach.

For what its worth, the Green Bay Packers thought highly enough of him that they interviewed him to be part of their defensive staff last February.

Aranda is on the record saying that his D philosophy is putting his BEST players on his D against the WORST players on the opposing O... and then doing it OVER and OVER.

will there EVER be a better opportunity for him to know the EXACT weaknesses of his opponent than Game 1 vs Wisky at Lambeau???

I would go as far as saying that it's probably the weakest offensive schedule in modern football history

Do you still shite on your mama's dream of having a child that's only 90% a douche, or have you surpassed those expectations just for this board? All she wished for was for 10%, but you've shite all over it. I'm sure your dad is proud.

He is an X's and O's kinda guy. That's what is needed on the other side of the ball.
Not complaining just stating a fact. Tired of seeing other teams out scheme more talented teams and no development of our NFL talent.

And after watching Denver's D last night, I got pumped. The last time we had a serious D like that, we were 11-0 with Jarret Lee as QB.

From 2013-15, Aranda’s defense allowed an average of 289.4 yards per game – which ranks first in the nation over that span. His defense allowed 16.9 points (No. 2 nationally), 179.9 passing yards (No. 3 nationally) and 109.6 rushing yards (No. 4 nationally) over the three years, a span that saw Wisconsin win 30 games with just 10 losses.

Plus his previous body of work....

Now Aranda seems like a great hire and I'm very excited, but let's just take a breath and see what he can do against our competition, because the SEC is a hell of a lot tougher than the Big Ten.

Saban made a decent transition from the Big 10 to the SEC. There's no reason why Aranda couldn't do the same.

I like the Aranda hire, but let's be objective when looking at his stats last year. Their schedule was full of horrible offensive teams. Here are the offensive rankings of their opponents last year.

They played 5 of the worst 28 offensive teams in the nation. And only 3 that were above average. Consider LSU was ranked 39th in ypg.

45
102
109
122
72
34
95
88
84
87
116
103
38

That being said, you can't choose your opponents, and he did have the #1 defense in the country and I'm excited with what he'll bring to LSU.

I wouldn't say sec offenses are that far ahead of any conference. Also the argument that he played weaker competition with less talent than he will have to face here is stupid. That's only important if he had our talent level to work with. He didn't as we all know.
