Agree. SEC is now way better top to bottom than it was during Skip's tenure. Hell 4 of the top 5 teams in the country are SEC teams. That's impressive. You even have teams like Kentucky who are 19-2 ranked 23. USCe has also looked impressive. This is an incredibly deep league.

I agree, and that was my point. We’re gonna have to win a couple NCs before we are able “to assert ourselves as back to being THE national powerhouse” as the OP says we have the chance to this weekend. I’m not even sure that’s possible in today’s college baseball.
Oregon State won it back to back in ‘06 and ‘07 and tacked on another since then. Fresno State won it the year before we did in ‘09. South Carolina has gone back to back since then. Vanderbilt has won 2. Florida beat us in ‘17. Arkansas made the finals the next year, and everybody remembers the overran pop up that would have won it. The Mississippi schools have won the last 2. And even Coastal Carolina and Virginia both snuck one in since we last did.
So, 7 SEC teams (2 twice) have won it since we last did. And Coastal Carolina, Oregon State, and Virginia.
My point was it’s gonna take a lot more than 1 opening series to be considered THE National powerhouse. It’s gonna take some hardware. And likely consecutively, which would take some of that magic I mentioned. But I doubt anybody ever wins 5 out of 10 again. Not with all the talent spread out throughout the country now.

I personally think A&M was the tougher test and we faired pretty well.
*Reason. First SEC series away for lots of our guys and still convincingly beat them 2/3 at home.

What did you get banned for Andy?

Since last year. We will probably take of 2 of 3 this weekend but it really doesn’t mean that much more than any other conference team. We won’t know how good Arky is this year until later in the season. It’s not like we’re playing Bama or UGA in football.

#1 Arkansas last year (or year before)

The next two series are definitely two of the most anticipated series at the Box in a long time. Yes that FSU Super at the box is the one I was thinking of too.

If LSU hits the way they should, I don't care who you put out there.
