The Florida State super regional?

So excited to finally see another top 5 matchup at The Box this weekend! This is a great chance to assert ourselves as back to being THE national powerhouse. Let’s bring it this weekend!!

This series and the Tennessee series will really test us and show how good we actually are.

Going to be a fun weekend

You serious? I’d argue they should be 3rd or 4th behind Wake and Florida

Please enlighten me on how many Arkansas games you have watched this season to come up with this conclusion.

Not that I don’t believe you because I don’t know myself just want to know what you are basing this on.

I don’t consider the second sec weekend series of the season the biggest since “blank”. Handle business and move on to the next game.

Id consider them top 5 if they still had some of their pitching. They lost jaxon wiggins, brady tygart, and koty frank, that has to hurt their depth. Hollan and hagen smith are pretty good, just not sure they have much else behind them. Maybe you know more than i do about them, and they have more quality arms than i realize, but thats my on the surface take.

We could sweep both series, but won’t be “back” as THE National powerhouse until we hoist a couple more trophies. I think we will eventually, but it’s harder now than ever before. Jay’s a recruiting monster, so that’ll be enough to get us back to Omaha on a regular basis, but the players are gonna have to go out and actually do it.

Would be nice to get that 1st one of this era under our belt this year with the potential—or likely—1st 2 picks in the upcoming draft on the team, but some other guys are gonna have to step up and create some of that magic we had in the 90s that made teams fear us. Luckily we’re also so deep that there are plenty of candidates capable.

The next 2 weekends offer us the opportunity to make a big statement to the rest of the SEC for sure. I just hope the weather doesn’t affect the intensity at the Box this weekend. OP is right that this is the biggest home series in a long, long time. Hope the crowd shows up and represents.

That’s not enough to make a judgement on their team.

Cool, so no one on here can have an opinion on them

No. Did not say that. Your volume viewing of Arkansas is not enough evidence to determine whether Arkansas is elite or good.

Arkansas has 5 really good pitching and then it drops off like the ocean floor.

Edit: I hate when people think LSU is supposed to sweep every team at home...they won't. Arkansas will grab a game this weekend.

My reasoning is up above, if you dont agree with it, then its fine.

Pollsters probably havent watched them play alot either….so im not sure either matters much yet.

Sounds like Arkansas has moved Hagan Smith into the Kevin Kopps role of not starting but the first close game of the weekend he’ll come in by the 7th inning to try and finish it out.

Andy,

It’s a message board. People will be discussing sports here and offering their opinions.

Thanks for posting.

I haven’t watched every team, but did see some of their Sunday game against Auburn. Their pitcher was lights out, one hit through 6. Auburn isn’t the Omaha team they were last year, but for their Sunday guy to do that against an SEC school is impressive.

They’re also on a 13 game win streak, so I’d say they’re easily top 5 at this point in the season. Wouldn’t be surprised if they end up top 5 at the end of the year either. We’ll most likely drop 1 this weekend, so I’m hoping for a series victory.

There is way, way more parity in college baseball now than then. Hell, there is way more parity in the SEC now than then.
