Like I've posted in other threads, why would they go poking around asking about a suspension if they were under the impression there wasn't one?
Stevie Wonder could see the risk as could anyone looking at the tape.
That’s obvious!

Why would they want the NCAA to look into it?
To figure out their game plan long before the day before the game.
This isn’t as hard for anyone in the business world to understand minus those stocking shelves I guess.

how do you know he didnt know and was just keeping his mouth shut hoping it wouldn't be revealed?

we still would taken him in the portal
Without a doubt. But someone during that transfer portal time knew he was ejected from that game.

Wait, you think they have no contingency for Haulcy missing time? In a sport where any player can get injured at any time in a game or even at practice......
You can't actually be that dumb.
Posted on 8/29/25 at 1:08 pm to Errerrerrwere
You do realize that even if we knew Haulcy was suspended for the first 4 games, we still would have taken him, right?

Irrelevant. The player doesn’t manage the roster and depth charts. The kid didn’t make himself the starter.
The head coach making 10M a year did!

Absolutely they do. Do you not think they had packages in for Haulcy?
What happens to those in the first half?

Nobody on the staff saw the film? Nobody could have assessed the risk here?
The penalty was officially recorded as an ejection for Unsportsmanlike Conduct. That suspension would not carry over to another game. The Big 12 officials fricked this up and they notified Houston directly, but never made that public.
Why in the frick would anyone in compliance, the people who are actually responsible for such things, not the fricking head coach, worry about a penalty that wouldn’t carry over. Unless Houston notified them and they dropped the ball, this is 100% on Houston and based on some comments here, could end up with them getting a secondary NCAA violation for not handling Haulcy’s paperwork correctly.
So how about you stop being a 13 year old girl on her first period and read up on how this shite works? fricking casual as frick blithering idiot.

The same thing that would have happened had he gotten hurt this week in practice

Him being ejected only matters for certain penalties, shite for brains. Half the people in this thread have pointed that out, but it’s obviously beyond your meager powers of comprehension.

That EVERYONE else saw as fighting?

Again because EVERYONE ELSE saw the penalty as fighting. This isn’t hard unless you’re blowing Brian Kelly right now.

How about you meet me at Patrick Taylor tomorrow and say that to my face. After I beat the shite out of you she can blow me again in the Port O Let.

Exactly. And EVERYONE ELSE saw it as a fight but EVERYONE on our staff?
Posted on 8/29/25 at 1:14 pm to misey94
The only folks who OFFICIALLY knew his status were: the Big12 Conference Office and the UHouston AD's office.

There is an entire compliance department and football staff, which has recently been expanded to include retention, scouting and NIL, that handle eligibility, rules compliance and player status. No fricking head coach in the P4 is hands on dealing with this shite.

Then he’s not a good head coach then.

What do you want him to do? Ask the Big 12 if they changed the penalty?
