Damn, you are right. Spencer Ware hit that one in 2010.

LOL

Nope.

We blew AU out last year and he almost got fired.

November is where the season is defined.

Miles is just coaching to keep his job until then at this point.

If you consider this game season defining, it just tells you how far we've dropped from being considered a powerhouse program.

It's not so much the opponent as it is the situation and timing of the game.

It can be, but only if we lose. Winning this game does not mean we'll have a good season, but losing it guarantees a bad one.

We win convicingly I think we will have a chance to win the west.

No win in this game will make me think that.

If we win a nail bitter I think it will be more of the same, losses to ole miss Bama and Arkansas.

I think that regardless of how we do against Auburn, but I get what you're saying and agree.

If we lose it will be a ugly season.

No doubt. Lose this game and we are seriously looking at a losing season.

In my opinion the outcome of this game will tell us how the rest of the season will go.

Hopefully you didnt do this about the Auburn game last season...

This. If we win, we're still looking down the barrel at:

Missouri
@ Florida
Ole Miss
Alabama
@ Arkansas
@ Texas A&M

This season is truly the epitome of "one game at a time." Sounds silly but I don't see a close win as a concern bc Aubbie will be fighting for their season already having two in the L column.

I agree with the OP here, to a degree.

Auburn is better than their record, and it's a tough place to play. No doubt.

Win this game, and we have a shot at 10 wins and the West.

Lose this game and we're looking at a 4 or 5 loss season. Maybe even 6 and 6. Hell, we might even have a hard time getting to 6 and 6 if we lose this one.

-@ Florida will be extremely tough

-Ole Miss will be tough

-We haven't beaten Bama in 100 years it seems

-@Arkansas will be tough

-@A&M will be tough. They haven't beaten us in 100 years which means they might be due for a win.

Add to that.... we're having this discussion with 17 returning starters and Top 10 recruiting classes stacked on top of each other, year after year

You made some good points. But every sec game will be defining as the teams define themselves and their bowl destinations.
But if we lose this game the season is lost and only a victory over the gumps will be rewarding.
Auburn had 2 home games in a row against Aggies and LSU. Their coaches have to win 1 of these.

They will play better and more determined this week vs last. So any kind of win is ok and keeps the hopes high no matter how ugly.

not the same situation last year. a season defining game isnt the same game every season. it solely depends on the situation for that year. last year the defining game was the bama game. this season for right now is the auburn game imo. not because auburn is good but because of the situation we are in and the timing of the game.

we historically dont play well in auburn, its the first road game since changing QBs, LF7 is back from injury, we have had a full game with Etling at QB so some kinks have been worked out with that. we have seen what we are capable of we just havent put it all together also malzahn is coaching for his job and this team is going to give everything they have for him. if we put it all together for this game i think it will be a statement to the rest of the country that we are still a very dangerous football team. not because auburn is so good but because of the situation and timing of the game.

True, but we did have a RB (Ware) throw for a TD in 2010.

It's the most important game of the year UNTIL next week. They need wins every weekend. There's plenty of time to worry about the games coming up later.
A good effort by LSU beats a good effort by Auburn. A poor effort by LSU against a real good effort by Auburn might not get the LSU Tigers a win.
I'm hoping for a good effort by LSU and a comfortable win.

If we put together 2 halves of football we walk away with it. 34-13. If we play for one half it is sloppy with an uncertain ending.

We haven't had a complete game yet, but once we start I think we blow the doors off the competition.

AU is terrible. So, anything besides a decisive victory is not good. A&M went in there and kicked their arse. If we dont do the same I am officially worried about our late Oct through Nov run

If you look at the stats for both teams through 3 games we almost mirror each other. Auburn has played a better schedule thus far. If we would have played Clemson and A&M do you really believe we would have won either of those games? If we don't play our A game on both sides of the ball this weekend we are going to be 2-2 on Sunday.

Auburn is not terrible they will be sky high with their backs against the wall. I just hope LSU can start and finish strong. I'm having trouble getting a good feeling on this one.

Until we win then it will be a meaningless game. Its amazing how the only games that matter are the lsu losses.

Auburn has been one of the 4 best programs in the sec since 2005 and we have lost to them 3 times in 11 years
