Etling was probably more efficient. He had a better overall running attack, but I have never felt as hopeless as watching JD shuffle in the pocket for 5 seconds of perfect blocking and not letting it fly.

If he’s the best since Mett not counting Burrow that says a lot about our qb play and development

I've followed LSU football religiously for several decades. NEVER have I seen an LSU quarterback who was afraid to throw to wide open receivers.

He is unquestionably best at ducking his head and running on pass plays. I'll give him that.

Meh...Brennan was possibly better than JD.

Last three games Brennan played for us (with 2 being against SEC competition) he threw for 1,127 yards, 11 TD's and 3 INT's. For contrast, JD has played in 6 games this year (3 SEC opponents) and has thrown for 1,215 yards, 7 TD's and 1 INT.

JD had a VERY good freshman year at AZ St. but that's not SEC competition. He's struggling mightily in this conference. He had an issue of holding the ball there at times and it's only gotten more pronounced here.

To compare him to what LSU has had in the last decade, outside of Burrow we've struggled fielding a competent QB. Compare him to Ashford at Auburn (their 3rd sting QB. Ashford was better in his 2nd ever start than Daniels who has over 30 starts under his belt. Now let that sink in.

Spoiled? Weve seen what a competent QBlooks like. Hit an open pass. Thats not to much to ask for.

There is no “possibly better” when it comes to Brennan vs Daniels passing ability.

Daniels isn’t even in the same stratosphere as Brennan when it comes to pure passing ability judging by Brennans small stint in the 2020 season.

And Brennans last 3 starts were all SEC competition. Miss st., Vandy and Mizzou.
