Our offensive pace has slowed, and the defense has gotten worse as the season goes. The color commentator remarked that we were a step slow tonight, and he was right. We’ve had some guys really piling up the minutes with our short rotation and propensity for close games and I think the chickens have been coming home to roost down the stretch.

The silver lining is that we should get a bit of rest before the SEC tournament with the double bye. Hopefully we see a rejuvenated team at that point.

They used to pound the glass and get to the free throw line.

Now we put other teams in the bonus with over 13 minutes left in the first half and jack up threes, when we’re already at the bottom quarter of the SEC in 3P%.

Sad.

That’s actually not true. We were 9th in the SEC in 3’s attempted coming into tonight, and 8th in 3 point percentage. Just for clarification.

Agree. A shallow roster is hurting this team at the end of the season here.

With that said the obvious deficiencies on this team all season has been the lack of a true 1 spot PG and rim protector at the 5 spot. Our defense would DRASTICALLY improve if we had a player at the 5 spot defending the paint.

Cooper didn’t play that bad tonight , dunno why he doesn’t play more with our depth issues ... his length down low is a plus

We are, but getting the double bye will allow us to recharge. Just beat UGA.

Getting 6 days off will go a long way for this team.

That's not the norm though, that was just tonight's atrocious calls by the refs making that happen. 54-free throws is laughable.

NO bench and only 7 guys playing almost all the minutes will do that to a team during a long season!

Wade doesn't seem all that good at developing a bench.
