Cam has always developed QBs in this manner. He plays conservatively and limits turnovers until he can add on piece be piece. This reminded me very much how he managed Philip Rivers and Flacco early in their careers. It can be frustrating at times but it pays off. I think yesterday surprised him because I don't think he thought running the ball would be so difficult.

I hope Les, Chavis and Cam reads your thread - if they do - we are in the final four.

Yeah but you can still wear them out running the ball if u force their Ss to stay honest.

I think Les trusts his game plan and tries to stick with it as long as possible without letting the ups and downs of the game make him rethink what the team spent a week-plus practicing for.

Amen. Running is easy when u spread them out just a little bit. Our personnel >> everyone else except Bama (i think we r equal)

No problem with this theory if the gameplan historically worked.

I'll say that last night will likely be the best run defense they see all year.

Was this a real comment?

Les still has a want to come from behind, get off to slow starts, and shut down his offense until it's crunch time.

Les will be Les.

Yeah frustrating for a fan at times, but it has worked for LSU during his tenure. .

I did forget to add J. Collins improved tackling. I added that to list.

#89 Smith CAN NOT drop a pass like that on 3rd down....& Quinn did some nice blocking down field. Lets hope that never wears off

It was a bad drop but it wasn't 3rd down

Yeah I just saying why. Les reminds of that car battery commercial from a few yrs ago when they are trying install the battery.

"Its not going in"
"Just keep hitting it!"

. It's not about "working magic". It's about being stubborn and stupid and stuck in the 70's. LSU fans need to stop making excuses for this guy. We shouldn't have to work miracles and pull stunts to win games.

Its just small changes that just seem glaringly obvious like playing Diarse more and Neighbors less.

Neighbors was a walkon for a reason. He might always do the correct thing but the gain is minimal. Like SFP said, its like playing 10 on 11.

Defs Are forced to respect Diarse, Quinn, Dickson, Smith, etc... bc they are elite athletes in addition to being sound position players.

yep

and now that a QB is likely chosen and we can be a threat to throw, we'll go wide more often
