Makes you wonder how many championships Bama would not have won without Louisiana...

Ummm...would you rather play for Saban or shrimp boat captain? Pretty easy decision.

Until we get rid of this joke of a coaching staff nothing will change! Mediocrity U!!

It's the players you get that don't pan out that kill you in the end. Doesn't matter where they come from. Jordan Jefferson, Brandon Harris, Anthony Jennings just to name a few ... all LA players and all pretty well did not pan out

All of these threads are simple hysterics. Yes. Alabama has gotten a few choice LA kids. We can't sign them all and not all want to stay in-state. Facts.
The SEC listed roster for Alabama has 116 players. 38 (33%) are from AL. 12 (10%) are from TX and another 12 from FL. 11 (7%) are from LA.
Yes. Players like D Moses, I Smith, I Buggs, P Mathis, C Allen, S Carter, and D Smith hurts, but it's not as dramatic as played out in these threads. Fans see a good player here and there and say, "Why are they not here?" Hysterics.
Continuing Alabama's roster: 7 (6%) from GA, 6 (6%) from CA, 5 (4%) from MD, 4 (3%) from MS, 4 (3%) from SC, 2 from KY and TN each, and 1 each from OK, NV, HI, AK, NC, UT, VA, IN, PA, IA, OH, OH, and DC.
LSU? Of a listed 119 players, 65 are from LA. 55%. 20 (17%) from TX, 5 (4%) from AL, 4 (3%) from each of FL, GA, and MS. Then 3 from TN, 2 from AR, MA, CA, and VA with 1 each from OH, AZ, WV, NJ, and HI and 1 from Australia.
4% of LSU's players are from AL. 7% of Bama's players are from LA.
The impact (and value) or Bama's LA pull compared to LSU's AL pull is greater, but it' not like they have some huge percentage of LA players. We just notice the ones they do because we follow it so closely.

What this guy said...amen. Buggs is a player missed. Other than that, give me a competent offense. Dumb shite is dumb
P Mathis definitely would have seen time on our D line. Another one O came in second for.
The big picture is all those players would add to our depth at a minimum and would take away from Bama depth.

Could definated use Buggs and airy Smith. The others would provide depth,
but probably not start. Moses just runs around and jrarely makes a play
Devonta Smith might start, but we have many good WR’s

Several of those guys are starters on one of the best teams in college football. Not just depth guys Or guys that never see the field. Starters. That goes beyond roster makeup numbers.

The thread title is an alarming NUMBER of LA players. I addressed that. There isn't a huge number. We just perceive that because it's what we look for.
Yes. They have 6 or 7 really good players, stars even, from LA. But they have stars from a LOT of states. It's what they do, they get some of the best. They don't get all of LA's best, but they get some.
It would be nice to have those 6-7 guys, but they didn't want to be here - be it the desire to get out of LA or play for championships, whatever.
Personally, I view these guys, for the most part, as followers jumping on a moving train. I'd rather make my own way and build something, but that's me.
But, the numbers of LA players at Alabama is not alarming.
