I firmly believe the pitchers have had their heads utterly fricked by Jay's situations, eagerness to make another trip to the mound to change the guy, and pressure they are under to win at all costs.

Benge's anger at being removed during the A&M series when he did his job is evidence of these suspicions

Benge can frick off with that. Yeah, I get being fiery and being a warrior and all that bullshite. But when the coach decides it is time to take you out, you don't act like a spoiled travel ball kid before leaving the mound. If you want to go somewhere in a tunnel and destroy a water cooler with a bat, then fine.

And Benge looked like he was about to implode Saturday during that game once a little adversity hit.

He probably should have been given a chance to start the next inning on Friday after getting the last guy out in the third.

Burning him and Plog for one out, but compromise them for the rest of the weekend is questionable.

I agree with this. I normally don't get deep in the "question every single move made by the coach" routine, but this ended up being a problem.

I was just very turned off by Benge when he got all pissy the one time last week when Jay took him out.

I don't disagree on that.

Same! We pulled Lach to bring in Plog. Makes absolutely no sense.

Fontenot, on Saturday in 2 innings, faced 10 batters and gave up only 1 earned run, struck out 5, walked 1, gave up 2 hits (1 2B, 1 Single). That was not terrible.

Just quit - quit analyzing this team - they are not good - season is a loss and it's time to move on to football

If we just had MSU's bullpen, we probably sweep MSU.
But we don't Blanche; we don't have MSU's bullpen.

Keep on fantasizing in your head of what we don't have on the field, but need. Focus on the reality of the situation and just exactly what CJJ needs to do to fix it.

Just a complete meltdown of the bullpen. There is no excuse for the team to keep rolling arms out that can't get out of their own way...burn it down and start over! crap!

Still trying to figure out why Lachenmayer got pulled

The following is a list of potential factors that played into Johnson's reasoning for pulling Lachenmayer on Saturday:

1. For the season, Lachenmayer has made 14 appearances for a total of 8.1 innings pitched, inclusive of Saturdays 2.0 IP. So this was by far his longest outing of the year.

2. Lachenmayer was at 38 pitches (again his longest outing of the year) through the two innings.

3. Lachenmayer had faced 8 batters and the line-up would be turning over for at least two batters to get a second look at Lachenmayer.

4. Top of the order coming to bat, with #2 and #3 hitters already having faced Lachenmayer in the 5th inning. With the potential of #4 and #5 also seeing Lachenmayer for a second time if any of the first three batters reached base.

Some times it is not just "but he was doing so well", it is understanding the complete picture.

He was at 90 pitches and we already have Moore out for the year and Evans out with discomfort. I am pulling him right there as well.

90 pitches after four innings! That's a struggling pitcher.
