I think that's a great point of view. I truly believe it'll be a very close game to start the 4th but we just give out.

here is the flaw,,,, RUSHING ATTEMPTS PER GAME

vs UGA LSU
MISS 26 42
MISS ST 34 34
TENN 23 29
FLA 22 32
AUB 25 34
UK 21 39

Im not saying that UGA doesnt have a good rushing D but id be willing to bet any major yardage LSU gave up came in clean up duty against the second or 3rd string. also, with the exception of auburn and maybe miss st, i would venture to say that UGA starter played every minute of the rest of the games.

Stats are for losers!

Ok I just did a quick glance at the pass defense numbers.

OM - UGA 149/LSU 47
MSU - UGA 157/LSU 141
UT - UGA 290/LSU 128
UF- UGA 245/LSU 100
KY- UGA 142/LSU 66
AU- UGA 144/LSU 161

As expected, LSU's pass defense did much better than ours. That's no real surprise and something we all knew. Few things to note though, we faced UT with Bray and UF with Brantley, which I don't believe LSU did. So you have 2 games that are roughly similar and 3 where we were LSU was by far better. About what I would have guessed.

Oh and about UK, the only reason they had so much was because of the got dang wheel route. I swear, if LSU runs the wheel route Saturday yall can pick up 30 yards easily.

YPC for those games...
Miss - UGA 1.3/LSU 3.5
MSU - UGA 1.6/LSU 1.5
UT - UGA (.9)/LSU 3.8
UF - UGA (.9)/LSU 3.5
KY - UGA 1.1/LSU 2.3
AU - UGA 2/LSU 2.6
Total rush yds for these 6 games - UGA 124/LSU 607
The stat has merit WG Dawg. Consider my eyes opened.

Yeah, this is a much better way to put it. I'd spread this around Dawg, if I were you.

Total numbers don't mean much because you don't know what was happening in the game. But, when you combine total rushing numbers with ypc, it becomes a clearer picture.

I am convinced as well. Thanks. Now I know what I have to worry about the next few days.

Georgia is a very good team. What stinks is, if you would have beaten South Carolina, you'd likely be in the national championship picture with a win over LSU in the Georgia Dome. It's amazing how little things make a big difference.

It will be a very tough game - one we should be talking more about here, in my opinion.

UGA's defense allows 3.0 ypc and LSU's 2.6, against tougher competition.

Yards per carry and total carries

Miss -- UGA 1.3 (26)/LSU 3.5 (42)
MSU -- UGA 1.6 (34)/LSU 1.5 (34)
UT -- UGA -0.9 (23)/LSU 3.8 (29)
UF -- UGA -0.9 (22)/LSU 3.5 (32)
KY -- UGA 1.1 (22)/LSU 2.3 (39)
AU -- UGA 2.5 (25)/LSU 2.6 (34)

So far fewer rushes against Georgia than LSU in every single game except for Miss State when LSU held MSU to fewer ypc. And if you look at the UT game Georgia got -43 rushing yards on 6 sacks, at Auburn they got -23 rushing yards on 6 sacks. UK -25 rushing yards on 5 sacks.

So yes Georgia's run defense is good but a lot of those numbers are masked.

in this 6 game set - UGA 0.82ypc/LSU 2.89ypc. it's a good stat.

In regards to what you posted, wouldnt' that just mean that we have a good knack for getting to the QB?

total yards or YPC both look strongly in favour of UGA, but I had to get out a program vs Ole Miss because I didn't even know who LSU had out there on defense based on #s by the end of the 3rd quarter.

The only LSU game among those that was a contest was Miss St; our rush defense is a lot better in that one. The teams we both blew out AU look similar too.

Basically our 4th string D needs to show some pride is what these numbers demonstrate :)

Now for the passing yards allowed...

Miss -- UGA 149/LSU 47
MSU -- UGA 157/LSU 141
UT -- UGA -290/LSU 128
UF -- UGA -245/LSU 100
KY -- UGA 142/LSU 66
AU -- UGA 144/LSU 161

UGA = 1,127 yds
LSU = 643 yds

Uga is a good football team. but you gotta understand, oregon, miss st, wv, fla, tenn, bama, and especially arky all said the same thing.

"lsu is overrated, we are underrated"

we've beaten all teams, except one, by ten points or more. so shut up, cause nobody on this board is gonna take you seriously.

Last time I checked our defenses are not playing each other.

UGA gave up yardage to Vandy and GaTech. LSU will rush for 200+ and throw for 200+.

Get ready to be humbled.

And I have never, not once, said lsu is overrated. They're rated at 1 just like they should, by far the best team in America. I'm just saying I don't think we'll get blown out or get run for 250 yards on.

If you don't take rational, civil discussion about the upcoming game seriously, what do you take seriously?

Bama gave up yards and points to 1AA Georgia southern. How much can you take away from that game?
