Like I said, we need to adjust somewhere because our " vanilla" offense MAY catch up with us. I am not saying we might lose at all. I just felt that we were saving some different wrinkles for the Alabama game and that was completely not true. So how is our gameplan going forward going to be different then what we see now? You can only play what you play.

I don't think anyone not named Alabama will hold us below 30 points regardless of how vanilla the offense is. The State game was early in the year before the staff really started to "trust" the offense enough to take shots, and even then it was the one game where we really didn't take advantage of red zone chances.

10-yard curls and crossing routes have been difficult for our defense to successfully cover for some reason. God help us if we play Oklahoma State. They are like the (Mike Leach) Texas Tech offense but with real athletes.

As always, I'm behind the Tigers 100%.

I usually wouldn't read a post this long; I'd just say something negative, and post a funny gif. This is a very solid post though. I agree with most of your points, and while our offense wasn't drastically more creative towards the beginning of the season, I do believe it gets even MORE vanilla with JJ at the helm. I don't believe JL is vastly better than JJ, but I do think he allows more creativity in the passing game. It's astounding that a senior qb (JJ) doesn't have the ability to read a defense, and make his way through his progressions. JJ's long delivery really limits the things that he can do in the pocket. I do believe this is also having a negative impact on the running game. I'm also surprised how little Ware touched the ball on Saturday. Hopefully WKU was just a letdown post bama, and everything will return to normal next week, as much of you believe it will.

Yea LSU would struggle mightily to beat a Dana Holgerson system.

Hrmmm.... The run up the middle produced most of Blues' long runs.

A freshman DT (freak) pushed two yards into the backfield for a 4th down goalline stand.

Mingo has been playing more and more on first down... He kind of re-defines penetration...

I'm really happy with where this team is.

super post. we need to introduce more stuff because the defenses have caught up with our old stuff. while we seem to be some new things (short side option) and the td pass to boone, we need to do more to get the ball out of the qb's hand faster.

This is like the same shite everyone said when we hired Crowton.

The thing is, with our athletes, if we execute, Vanilla offense will not just win, but put up plenty of points.

man just when I was starting to like you.

Instead of saying I am wrong, help me learn more by helping me. I am flying solo around here and don't know half as much about football as you and some others. I just don't see many people talking about stuff like this. Just JL and JJ stuff, which I am not worried about really

Cool for you. I am happy with the team as well, just would like to see where I am wrong and where I am right. Maybe I am completely wrong, but would like to know more.

I think all of our inside runs are underrated. In most games, we are gutting teams with these tough runs in the second half. After 20 plays of getting hit by copeland, then Ware or whoever, most defenses get tired of getting hit. Not to mention our fatties are leaning on their line the whole time.

Also, the power running game between the tackles is what we run PA off of 80% of the time. I would be willing to bet almost all of our long passes this year were off of an interior run PA.

Man, how cool would it be if you could rotate the oline like the dline.

And I am with you. Sometimes I tend to forget that our main philosophy is punish them. It seems ware is becoming less effective, and I think he will come to play arky

Our D Line seems to be doing a helluva job. I'm not worried about what they are doing in the least and am surprised that you are.
