just pissed because i wanted to donate to non athletic programs, but now the parking has become my mandatory donation.

Dude, LSU charges its own employees $40 a month to park to go to work there. You act like parking prices are a new thing to the LSU Community.

If there is a group of guys who have been dedicated to doing this for YEARS...with a whole setup...then NO its not that big a deal. How many people are in a tailgating krewe typically? 5,6,7?

Divide that over a season and we're not talking that much money. If you can afford to tromp out there every Saturday to put on an expensive tailgate...I don't see the issue with paying a parking fee.

Do I think its excessive for the casual fan? Yes. But those folks with trailers and Krewes...No, I don't really feel bad for. Its a cost of doing business.

It really isn't the $540 to run the tailgate, everyone would be willing to pitch in. Its the $40/car for everyone else that tailgates with us...

You lose your support from the guests of the tailgate you can have all the investors you want. It still doesn't matter.

That's pretty standard in any location where parking is a premium. Again, most aren't ticked about paying, they are ticked about the cost.

I'm also pissed that I've got to pay $50 for a trailer, but someone who sets up even closer to the stadium is exempt.

So you put $540 in for the tailgate to setup and your mooching friends are the ones pissed about parking...see, this doesnt add up for me.

They support the cause $10-20 a game a person.

For some, that might be $60 now.

There needs to be some kind of charge because the trash left around the campus is pretty trashy. I can't believe how some people just don't pick their shite up.
I'll agree 40$ is way too much to not even have a good spot, but it should be like 15-20$

I know a lot of season ticket holders and your regular tailgaters gave their tickets away for this game. They just went to Dallas and spent a lot of money. They lots will be full come next home game.

I'd have no problem paying $1.81 for the day. $40 for one day is excessive.

There are alternatives to paying $60. Get there early. Walk distances. Take a cab. Ride a shuttle. There are way too many cheaper alternatives for the ordinary fan to be complaining.

$480 a year to park is a bit ridiculous. You work there 30 years and you're looking at roughly 15K + compounding interest lost. Seriously...its a bit different.

I don't disagree. And to be honest I didn't really see a drop in numbers this week at our tailgate.

Just stating what people will often do.

There are four main issues I have with the changes:

1. $50 trailer fee only applies to the area in the new charges.
2. The total cost of $40/$50 far exceeds other SEC locations.
3. The inability for someone out of town to purchase a pass online and print it out.
4. Closing the lots 3.5 hours before kickoff?!?!

There are alternatives, take a shuttle, ride the bus, carpool, walk longer distances.

LSUs ticket prices also are less than most SEC locations. MS State charges $75 per ticket. Seriously.

Idiotic. I'd probably pay $40 gladly if I could show up an hour before kickoff Thats part of the convenience of paying...it defeats the purpose of PAYING

Boom!

so next yr when there are 8 home games it'll be $320 for the year. so $320 is no bi deal but $480 is?

just curious as to what the cut off is?

oh i know, i bet cuz it affects you, it's a big deal. funny how that works.

Auburn and UF are $70/ticket. MSU does the same thing we do for the bigger games.

You're comparing Work vs. Entertainment. If they attend the games, they are subject to the same charges as you. No one is exempt.
