Lived in Atl about 20 years ago, a local cable documentary about Clemson. The Clemson guy says Clemson literally copied everything from LSU. Everything but that stupid rock.
that's not true - Clemson call their stadium Death Valley before we did.

That doesn't diminish that our stadium is far better than theirs, but it's the truth.

Clemson may have had it first but LSU's is better and there was an actual tiger in the stadium for many of those years. Much more deadly than a rock mounted on a post.
well we don't have the tiger in the stadium anymore, and haven't for quite awhile.

I don't get why this board denigrates the traditions of other schools. I think Howard's Rock is a great tradition, and how Clemson comes down the hill onto the field.

Traditions, even those of other schools, is what makes college football, not just in LA but all over country, a great sport.

quality response.

So you don't like the Clemson tradition - ok fine.

What other tradition, by another college, is a cool one in your opinion?

Clemson had “Death Valley” before LSU. But LSU had deaf valley until it morphed into Death Valley years later.

Deaf Valley was just saying it incorrectly or had a speech impediment

You obviously dont have.much historical knowledge of LSU. it was actually opposite, originally called Deaf Valley because it was so loud it morphed into Death Valley because of the accent of the people in the area.

""It is a pantheon of concrete & steel.
It's a city that rises defiantly in the Delta
Alongside the Father of Waters.
It is the humidity of autumn evenings
That drapes stately oaks and broad magnolias.
It is haunted...and it is loud.
It is Halloween night & Cannon blasts.
It is a Louisiana gumbo of humanity
That cheers its Tigers to victory
And destroys the dreams of invading foes.
Chance of rain is...NEVER!
It is the cathedral of college football
And worship happens here.
When the sun finds its home in the western sky,
It is a field of glory for sure...
But much more than that it is a sacred place,
And it is Saturday night in Death Valley!"

Just reading this gave me chills.

GEAUX TIGERS!
