bullshite. The refrain that our cupboard was bare is a myth. This team was ranked as having the 8th best roster from a talent standpoint by 247 Sports. So, stop with your excuses.

How can you possibly take that horseshite seriously? That ranking is pure fiction propped up by guys like Emery, K Thomas, Guillory, Daniels and others on this roster who didn’t live up to their high 4 and 5 star rankings. It’s 247 continuing to push their own work without taking account of their numerous evaluation busts.

I’m not saying we are devoid of talent, but the story you are pedaling in this thread just doesn’t match reality. We aren’t top better than 15-25 in talent across the entire roster and a chunk of that talent is still young and inexperienced. It’s not spread evenly, we are thin at several positions and have almost no depth at others. And yet you still push the #8 crap.

We are not paying him $60 million to go away after 3 years?

Heupel has them looking good in his 2nd yr.

To be fair, that's not the position we're in.

Having a Hesiman candidate QB is quite the salve.

LSU's resources piss all over Tenn
Don't know about that. I'd say they're pretty comparable.

Sounds like Denbrock needs to be out at OC. Does anyone think that LSU with a TE based offense will be super successful in the coming years?

UT was in way worse shape then LSU when he took over. Not only were they bad but almost every starter transfered out. People on here have no clue.

If you want to break it down into specific categories, they MAY have been worse in some sort of aspect. But as a whole program/ culture, youre wrong.

Remind me. Which program, LSU or Tenn, had so many players leave that they had to start a WR at qb?

And if they were so bad, couldnt getting rid of those players be seen as a net gain? Addition by subtraction

Tenner is tRant's flavor of the week. They will be on someone different by the end of the year.

Last year around this time it was Arkansas (3-3), who ironically just gave up 40 to State.

Ranking best roster talent is like recruiting rankings, surely one of the biggest part of those rankings is having multiple NFL caliber receivers, which is useless without a decent OL, a QB that’s clearly one of the worst in the SEC, and an OC that the game has passed by.

Strong running game
1 or 2 speed receiver/game breakers
Strong OL

Sounds like Bama, so absolutely

At LSU it takes 5 seasons to install an offense and at least 4 seasons to have a decent special teams. BE PATIENT AND STOP BEING A LOW IQ RANTARD

The only reason that UT and OM hit ahead of schedule in year two of rebuilds is because of misevaluated QBs that others didn’t appreciate. Hooker was a passed over backup at VA Tech that Heupel backed into and didn’t even start initially and Corral was stupidly passed over by OM’s previous staff. Without them, both teams are just average to slightly above and on a more typical rebuild curve. A great QB can elevate a team that much

This. Corral and Hooker-types don’t grow on trees
