Don't worry, it is obvious that nola's Jim Kleinpeter was clearly mistaken and mistook another player for Mett. Dumb azz reporting again.

I don't think there's much doubt JJ will remain the opening game starter, but without JLee, LSU finishes at least 9-4 instead of 11-2 last year.

We will need a throwing option if winning the SEC is a possibility. This writer's not using much logic in making his assumptions based off of practicing the option.

I don't believe him. What I saw with Mettenberger at Butler and Georgia spring game he is way better than the 2 QB's we have

In comparison to Jordan Jefferson - and this is just in general, mind you -  he seems to throw a better deep ball, with acccuracy and consistency. His release is quicker than Jefferson's, at least today it was. After that, there isn't much difference
.

This made me laugh. So after all the things that make a QB great go in Mett's favor, there's not much difference in the rest

What the frick are we running options in practice for. No shite JJ runs the option better than Mett he's been doing it for the last three years.

Because we are going to continue to run plays suited for JJ, as we have done for the last two years.

That actually is interesting; he's better than Jefferson at all the areas in which Jefferson struggles, and is the same as Jefferson in the things Jefferson does well. And yet, he sees little difference and feels there's little chance for Mett to beat out Jefferson?

What is the latest with Miles' new contract? Hope they succeed in getting the flat rate buyout regardless of how many years are left on the contract.

Well lets come clean and sober on a few things guys: I think what most of us would liketo say/admit is that ZM has the potential to come in and duplicate what Cam Newton or Tim Tebow did at Aubrn and Florida respectively: supplant or replace the incumbent QB and lead the team to instant success.

Whats missing for that formula to work with ZM is he is not a running QB, his passing skills is what makes him great and, those have to be honed and may take a year of sidle-line tutorlage under Kragthorpe to be truly realized.

I'll be honest i would still like to see a full 180 when it comes to the QB/passing situation and hope it involved ZM this season. But we still have a 4-year senior who seemed to get better down the stretch throwing the deep ball and knows the system better than the other 3.

He got that after watching one practice?

No, he got that after watching about 20 minutes of practice. That's all the time that the media was allowed. They get to watch them warmup, stretch and go threw a few individual drills and then they are booted out. They don't get a chance to watch them do any seven on seven drills or any kind of "scrimmaging".

Definitely sounds like he's jumping the gun after day 2 of spring ball. Mett has over 5 1/2 months to make a claim for the starting job.

At least 9 -4 without JLee.

Losses to TN and FL may have sent the team on a slide too

and it was probably just a pitch drill, not really "practicing the option".

Too bad we aren't Georgia or Butler. You can't really make that comparison, different times and places.
