the three 5-star amigos - Jerry Rice, Andre Johnson and who?

Alright, this will certainly be deemed a stretch by some, but work with me.
I just watched the latest K-Town 2010 video production, which was simply outstanding, and at least at their best, Toliver #80 looks like a taller and faster Jerry Rice, and Randle looks like an Andre Johnson type...It got me thinking how we have three 5-star (per rivals) players in our starting receiver corps, which is phenomenal..
If (again bare with me) Toliver is Rice, and Randle is Andre Johnson, who would Shepard most resemble in the Pros?

Percy is actually a good comparison, but Desean Jackson would be pretty good as well as long as Shep doesn't drop the ball before crossing the goalline.

DeSean Jackson is the closest comparison. Both have breakaway speed and can stop on a dime.

Randle is not that explosive.
If you want an All Pro to compare him to, it's Larry Fitzgerald.

hold your tongue, this remains to be seen.

Sounds good to me.

He is built more like Andre, in fact, he looks exactly like him. I have seen both up close, so I think Andre is more correct. To me, Fitzgerald is more lanky and flexible, while Randle has speed, burst, physicality and size/body much like Johnson..
How about Shepard? He is supposedly 6' 1" and 195 now, and I am not coming up with any slot-like NFL receiver All Pro-caliber player that possesses his size characteristics, agility, burst and speed. Perhaps the DeSean Jackson compare is the best mentioned so far?

maybe randy moss with his skinnyness and speed.

I'd say
TT = Randy Moss
Randle = Andre Johnson
Shep = D Jackson
TT = Randy Moss
Randle = Andre Johnson
Shep = D Jackson

I am going to be stunned if Tolliver/Randle are going to ever equal to Johnson or Fitzgerald! Hold your tongue when comparing these unproven guys to best NFL receivers.

I don't think he was trying to say that our receivers are on their level. You can compare the two players styles/attributes without implying that they are equal.

Stunned is too strong of a word. Pleasantly surprised seems more appropriate, since their skills sets make it plausible that they could rise to that level, albeit anything but a sure bet at this stage!

How about Hines Ward?
I like it. I could see that fairly easily, but Hines has a bit more of a sturdy-looking body at this stage, but with another 2-3 years in the weight room....
Ok, let's go with:
Toliver reminds of Jerry Rice or Randy Moss
Randle reminds of Andre Johnson
Shepard reminds (kinda) or Hines Ward
If these guys all mature to their best, that will be one helluva group of receivers come Bowl Time..
I just hope a QB comes out of the pack to throw them the rock!!

Stop it. Andre Johnson is 230 and a burner, and Rueben is neither. He is a good player though. Your comparisons are silly.

Fitz has dreads to. Rueben's nothing like him!
