Totally unnecessary dichotomy.

It's obvious that the current LSU Admin has a different vision for the in-stadium experience than those of us I would (for lake of a better term) label "traditionalists." They seem almost oblivious to our traditions in some unwitting pursuit of sameness.

Really would like to hear more variety from this piped in music. Some of the stuff they play is just flat out old, and not very exciting at all.

I like the In the Air Tonight rendition they play, sounds cool. "Sail" is another good one. Please don't play Zombie Nation, I absolutely hate hearing that in Tiger Stadium.

I just wish they'd actually put some work into it.

I like this too. I've tried to find this particular version to no avail. Anyone know the artist?

I Swear! I am convinced that a number of you Douche Bags would bitch if:

1) There was no canned music;
2) If it was all canned music;
3) If the band played;
4) If the band didn't play;
5) If we sang the National Anthem;
6) If we refused to play the National Anthem;
7) If we only sand the first stanza of the Alma Mater;
8) If we sang both stanzas of the Alma Mater;
9) If we didn't sing the Alma Mater;
10) If we played Pre-Game;
11) If we didn't play Pre-Game;
12) If there was a half-time show;
13) If there was no half-time show;
14) If we didn't drive Mike around the field before the game;
15) If we failed to drive Mike around the field before the game;
16) IF the opening kick-off were out of the endzone;
17) If the opening kick-off were stopped at the visitors 1 Foot Line;
18) If Mett passed for 200 yds & we rushed for 300 yds;
19) IF Mett passed for 300 yds & we rushed for 200 yds;
20) IF we won by 50 but didn't hold the other team to -50 in total yards; and

A Thousand Other Chikensh!t reasons that some of you pu$$ys drum up to bitch about!

We are 2-0! We have an incredible team!

DEAL WITH IT!

And what you, like most, fail to realize is that your actions, songs, etc. were change from previous generations. So what you're currently complaining about is exactly what you participated in years ago.

It is the Tiger fan's right & duty to complain about the most piddling shite when there is nothing really important to complain about.

For the piped in music (since it seems we have to have it) - hire a real DJ. Anyone know of a really good one?

That's something that would take longer than 5 min. This is what Tiger Stadium needs to do:

Hire me to DJ on the sidelines, or right behind the lower fence. Run a feed down from the press box to allow me to tap into the PA and bring about 10 wireless 15 inch DJ speakers and place them around the field facing up at the crowd. I would talk to the band director and get a queue from him when it would be OK for me to play music (as to not play over the band).

I'd keep the music mostly "HYPED UP" with a few of the traditional songs that people are used to.
I mean after all, it's supposed to Hype up the players and get the crowd into the fun as well.

Somebody get me in and I'll do it.

(Long response – but well-written. Enjoy)

Whoa! Not everything changes. The earth’s orbit doesn’t change. There are numerous physical constants. The location of TS is pretty fixed also.

Change for the sake of change is but novelty. Any change needs to be weighed to see if it really makes things better or perturbates things.

CFB is a special, even very-special, game because of tradition. Apart from tradition it becomes little more than double-A baseball.

Although anecdotal, consider the lack of interest in the worst NFL game vs the abundance of interest in the best CFB game. The worst NFL game is still a higher quality of football than is the best CFB game. There’s something more in play than just the quality of the game. That something is tradition.

What our Admin needs to focus on first is preserving and promoting our traditions (e.g., crowd noise), not fostering sameness with other venues. No one I know is averse to change. It’s one thing to change the lighting in TS to make it better. It’s quite another to get rid of it altogether so that games could only be played in daytimes. One enhances our tradition. The other destroys it.

Regarding piped-in music it’s not a matter of which songs or a better sound system but how does the introduction of piped-in music affect our in-game traditions? When the TGBFTL is silenced in favor of some generic tune that doesn’t work to enhance what makes TS unique, it works against it.

A great opportunity to start a new tradition exists between the time the TGBFTL completes its half-time performance and the start of the 2nd half.
