His 62% completion percentage(good for 2nd in the SEC) disagrees with you.
How many of those completions were for less than 5 yards, or even behind the line scrimmage where he made the receiver turn around the catch the damn ball, or thrown at their feet so that they had to stop to catch the ball off their shoelaces? Hell, anyone can have a 70% completion percentage throwing those types of passes all game long. Why the f'ck do you think we've had so many 3 and outs? How do you get that many 3 and outs with a 62% completion percentage for your QB?

Do you really think Ryan Mallett gives a shite about running the option?

If the kid can't even get the f'ing CONCEPT of what he's suppose to do on an option play, how the f'ck do you think he can read a defense?
The QB on my 7-8 pee wee team at least understood the CONCEPT of the option play. It's clear that JJ just doesn't get IT. And, he doesn't have a clue as to reading defenses. Further, he's got to be the most inaccurate QB we've ever had. How many times has he put the ball at a player's feet when they are wide open? How many times has he made players turn around to catch the ball on those WR screen plays, thereby causing their momentum to go opposite of where it should go?
The kid just doesn't have it, mentally or physically.
JJ has a +60% completion percentage but he's not accurate?

Wasnt he second best in the SEC?

Guys look, this quote says it all. He obviously knows way more about football and the QB position than all of us put together because he coaches 7-8 peewee football. I bet he will send a ton of talent into the college ranks in a few yrs....

Also, I'm pretty sure every other qb in the sec had at least 2 years on JJ.

You talked about accuracy. I presented facts to refute your statement.
Now you bring in some issue related to play-calling/coaching(ie not on Jefferson)
I'm not following this.

It's not that he can't run the option because of physical limitations (e.g. speed, size, etc). That's not the reason I brought it up. It's that he clearly doesn't get the CONCEPT of what he's suppose to do. It's not brain surgery. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out. And, any QB playing in the SEC should understand the concept.
Please list what SEC defenses you were masterfully running the option against when you were 19yrs old.
FWIW, Jefferson has NEVER run the option before so why the frick would a coach insist on running it over and over again? Because our OC is fricking moron. Get it?

You could say this same thing about almost all college qbs fwiw

This ..... I'll say it again , the kid looked good Friday
WHAT? He couldn't throw a 10 yd stop route that didn't hit the ground first!!!
It's unbelievable how bad qb expectations have become at LSU because we can't even rember what good play looks like.
JJ is a good kid, but he is NOT SEC starting material at all unless he were at Vandy or somewhere like that where ok is good enough. We got him as a backup and we also were going after another player on his hs squad. Was a package type deal among other things considered.
And, as bad as Crowton is, alot of things didn't work because of JJ limitations on getting the reads right.
If RP leaving was such a bad thing, we should have stuck with the experince this year and took or lumps while developing a qb that is better suited for this system. The qb is the OC on the field once the play is called and if Crowton is dumb, how bad you think JJ is screwed up before the snap.

Neither could Darryl Clark for most of the game, and he's a 5th year senior.

In the 1st quarter, his play elevated alot after that. Funny how every ignored it when Flynn played a shitty half, but if Jefferson plays a bad quarter on a bad field, he's obviously terrible.

We had NO OFFENSIVE LINE! JJ did not help himself, but the O-line was terrible.

Exactly. Look, I've never called out or publicly criticized an LSU player like this before. I even thougth Jamie Howard had potential. I thought Herb Tyler was intelligent enough to understand what he couldn't do well, and did what he could.
But, the JJ experiment has been a total bust. He looks like a deer in headlights.
I'm sorry, but even a DECENT high school quarterback realizes that when you have a 3rd and 25 on your own side of the field (i.e., you're not in FG territory), you DO NOT call a f'ing Timeout to avoid a delay of game penalty. Just take the f'ing penalty and call the same f'ing play on 3rd and 30.

Now we're going to bitch about our Qb not being able to pin point he passes with a ball that was cold and slick as frick? In case you didn't notice PSU's guy had the same problem.

He wasn't doing it in the second half.
He did make some mental errors, but I think he will improve before next year.

We're not just talking about the CapOne game.
It's the entire season.
He had one "good" game against Auburn. Other than that, it's been the same shite over and over and over again.
With the level of talent he's working with at RB and WR, it's clear he's the weakest link.
