When did he say this? I don't remember it.
He said it during two different games this year. I forget which ones. I'm pretty sure one was an away game (I was watching live) and the other game was a home game (I watched on DVR).
Oh, and make no mistake. The implication was CLEAR - JJ sucks and LSU has to figure out a way to hide his "suckage".

I'd like to know what offensive line you've been watching that would indicate to you running the triple option offense with Shepard would be even remotely successful.

Do you just like repeating yourself, to yourself?
We don't know. But, what we do know is that we'll never win anything with JJ behind center.

So you don't know if your method would work, but you are willing to try it. To go against everyone on the coaching staff and team knows? Nice.

So, let's see.
Hmmmm ... should I keep trying what has failed all year long (Jefferson's throwing game),but expect a different result, or, try something new that MIGHT work?
You've just defined insanity.

Crowton and Stud need to go. Let a new OC decide who the QB should be and fix the OL issues. If JJ is the choice of a new OC for QB, then I am good with that.
You can't blame the 19 year old kid who plays for free for the offensive woes. The clown that makes the $$$ and calls an inside screen with no timeouts is the one that needs to get the blame.

i can see it now, after the bama game, lsu switches to the triple option with crowton and newbomb at the helm......i know i'd trust crowton to run that system

the Florida game.
That would make sense. They were pressuring Jefferson when they were only rushing 3 guys. That was as bad as I've ever seen an o-line play. We averaged 2yds a carry and UF never put more than 5 in the box all night. That can be tough on a QB.

Should a coach have to tell an SEC caliber QB, "Look, a FG will win the game for us and we're in FG range, with no timeouts and little time left. So, don't take 10 seconds in the pocket and then take a sack. Just get rid of the ball or run with it if you can, if you don't see anyone open."
I'm sorry, but I don't think you should have to explain this to an SEC-caliber starting QB.

Compared to JJ, Russell looked like Joe Montana.
The kid just doesn't get it. And, never will.

Are you talking about the Ole Miss game? I don't think we were in field goal range when Jefferson took the sack. Not to mention, the coaches let too much time run off before they called a timeout and the play calling was atrocious. You really have to reach to put that game on JJ's shoulders.

You are aware as a sophomore, Russell took a sack in a very similar situation against Auburn?

I haven't read the whole 5 pages thus far but here are my random thoughts
One person stated that JJ hasn't improved all year. I don't think JJ would have been able to audible for the TD earlier in the year. Especially since we were doing that stupid get up to the line then look to the sidelines for the play crap.
Jamarkus Russell looked like crap his first 2 years at LSU then had a great junior campaign. I personally don't think JJ looked as bad as Jamarkus looked at times earlier in his career (throwing rediculous interceptions etc...) So there is still hope for JJ to improve. If Crowton goes and JJ gets some real schooling I think he could be pretty good. Good enough to lead us to a NC if we get better play around him.
