You’re going to have to use a coach with some hardware if you want to attack Orgeron

They just reload. Honestly these are the only 3 schools that are truly elite at the moment. I know 2 play in weak conferences, but they are constantly wining with new players yearly.

There's your answer. We are part of the other 126 CFB D1 teams, not those 3. We are closer than most though.

It's the truth, sorry if you can't handle it. You don't get your arse beat time and time again by Saban and still get to consider yourself one of the top 4 programs in the nation.

Its a systemic problem and a poor culture that was created by our leadership

Why do fans think we are one of the blue bloods of college

Because we should be with decent coaching. The state produces top talent and we have no instate competition for it. Reputation and facilities are superior. We are willing to spend money on coaching. No reason other than poor coaching hires that we aren’t blue blood.

Because outside of the 3 teams being mentioned we have been the most consistently successful program over the last 20 years.

National championships:
Alabama - 5
LSU - 3
Clemson - 2
Ohio st - 2

As far as winning seasons go... only Oklahoma matches us in having a winning season every year since 2000. Thats going to end this year, but that is a hell of a run. Bama, clemson, and ohio st have all had losing seasons in the recent past.

Recruiting wise... over the past 5 years the only schools with a better average than us are Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio St.

So, whether you want to call it a "blue blood" or top tier program or whatever, it does not matter what happened in the 50s 60s 70s etc. That has jack shite to do with what is happening today. In modern times LSU is at the top tier of college football and our expectations as fans for the results we see and the decisions our program and the administration makes needs to coincide with that of Alabama, clemson, and ohio st

LSU should be the gold standard. That’s what O said he would do when he got the job.

What happens to you when you don’t do your job?

That's not what LSU is grading him on. O said that. LSU didn't.

Ryan Day and Lincoln Riley would be assassins at LSU don't kid yourself. Now put O at tOSU and Oklahoma and he would be a disaster

Oklahoma isn’t great, but they haven’t fallen off as hard as LSU did this year. Their “down year” wasn’t even close to this bad. It’s a direct reflection of O.

And not one of these teams would ever lose to the likes of Missouri.

LSU is supposed to be considered elite. A perennial top team. That doesn’t mean you win every game, but at least be competitive against every team you play. What we are seeing now shouldn’t happen here: totally incompetent coaching, players that have no clue, and apparently no idea how to correct any of it.

There is no excusing this season. None.

Where is the logic in this comment? Ohio state recruits better than us so Ryan Day would have a better chance there, and an easier path to a championship, no?

The majority of reasonable people knew that it was a bad idea when we hired him.

Why couldn’t another coach have persuaded Burrow to transfer, hire a young offensive talent (in state).
Let’s be honest most could recruit here.
That’s literally all of what O has done.
He hasn’t master planned a game.
He hasn’t made incredibly gutsy calls in big situations.
He hasn’t out coached anyone. He simply got a great transfer and a great young mind for an assistant.

Two things nearly any coach could at least have a chance of pulling off.

Fallen off of what? When was Oklahoma elite?

You can’t fall off of something you were never on top of

Here’s the problem. CEO needs to learn to coach the coaches. He ultimately is letting them dictate. Saban doesn’t let his coaches dictate. He still has his hands on everything. Coach O needs to be coaching the coaches and be more hands on with all groups.

They won a national championship in 2000. They’ve played for several other national championships, and have been in the CFP almost every year. I can’t stand them, but they’ve been very successful, and when they’ve had a down year, it’s nothing like what O is doing this season. He’s not the answer, he’s as bad a Chizik, if not worse.

Did you just brag on a National Championship from 20 years ago? We’ve won 3 since then and played for 4...

Oklahoma is not an elite program and their defense is consistently abused.
