2001, Auburn. Night game, end of the season, for our first trip to the SEC Title game in this crazy run. It was absolutely electric.

it was nothing compared to 2003 UGA

but 2001 did end well. last example of students running on the field in tiger stadium history most likely

you think every student section hasn't cursed this much?

i will agree it has gotten weaker. i do my part, but i blame the flagship agenda raising standards. all lot more students these days actaully come to LSU to get a good education and not cheer at football games. it sucks

Agreed, the flagship screwed all of us over, why try to change into something you're not you know? LSU was meant to be a school where you could get a pretty good education and watch great athletics, now I'm actually screwing myself over by going to the games every Saturday. I do it with a smile on my face but come Sunday, I'm swamped and stressed & etc. So I do my part yell my arse off and try my best. But there are things that need to be done like this wave in the second quarter business ... REALLY?

Although I wasn't at the USC game in the 70s, the loudest sustained noise that I recall was for Florida 1997. The crowd never let up from the beginning to the end.

Are you really complaining about LSU raising academic standards to become a better school?

If so, it's really sad to put football ahead of education. No wonder why education sucks in this state.

The loudest I have ever heard it was the Florida game last yr. Place went absolute nuts after we scored and they announced USC had lost!

I HIGHLY AGREE! I get chills just thinking about it. I was yelling so hard and intensely that my back had a spasm and I had to calm my arse down.

The sad part is it took the announcement of USC losing to get to that level. The students have been weak in the last few years. Too busy trying to piss the rest of the crowd off with the vulgarity.

I wish I could have been there for USC in 79' though. I heard that was the loudest game of all time.

I was there, and while I can't say it was the loudest of all time since I have not been to every game, I know it's the loudest event I've ever been to. And it was very loud the entire game. In fact, I don't remember any games having any stretches of quiet times. There was always yelling going on. And the student section was full of falling down drunken fools (like me) even back then.

Mark Richt would say afterwards that the difference between Tiger Stadium and other home stadiums in the SEC was that when UGA scored, Tiger Stadium got louder! Awesome moment!

I remember after UGA scored on the 90+ yd screen pass. TS got so loud, and the band starting playing the fight song. It was one of the most memorable visiting team scores in my memory.

I was a student from 01-06. The amount of vulgarity to the cheers has not changed. I remember in '03 sitting on the eight row every game and the cheers that we did. my brother's a student now, sits on the third row, and says they do the same cheers. kick their arse instead of lsu was going on during my aunt's time, in the 90s. tiger rag and a-hole have been as far back as i can remember (and my family has had season tickets since i was 5 aka 20 years). the only change i noticed was adding you suck. if they wouldn't have been heard on tv, would it even have been such a big deal? this is football people! jesus!

Give them a chance. We haven't had any big games this year. I guarantee you they won't disappoint for the Georgia and Bama games.

Is the LSU student section smaller than that of some other SEC schools? I've been to UF and theirs is huge. It seemed to cover one entire sideline. South Carolina had a pretty big one too.

There is a lot of truth to your post although some on here are in denial.
