The Georgia game in 03 was awesome. I remember when UGA busted that play for something like a 80-90 yard Touchdown in the 4th and the energy was sucked out of the stadium. The students didn't bitch at the coaches or curse the players. Instead we started the most memorable L-S-U chant that I have ever witnessed all the while Georgia was still celebrating the TD. Our players jumped up on the bleachers waving towels and this was all while we were down in the 4th, well.....I think we all know how the story ends.

I was there as a student...my favorite moment in Tiger Stadium. That moment signaled a new era of LSU football. "Catastrophe Syndrome" was gone. Mark Richt would say afterwards that the difference between Tiger Stadium and other home stadiums in the SEC was that when UGA scored, Tiger Stadium got louder! Awesome moment!

We were never down in the 4th that play tied the game at 10. Then we all know what happens. Either way loudest I have ever heard tiger stadium for a whole game. Florida was loud for about two min. I wish I could have been there for USC in 79' though. I heard that was the loudest game of all time.

The student section was great from '99-'02, when I was there. I tink it started slacking off when I went to visit a friend and sat in the student section with her for the 2004 Alabama game...just was not the same. Maybe everyone isn't drinking enough? Did alcohiol get replaced by weed and downers as the #1 surplus to have prior and during a game?Hahah!

I was a student from '03-'07, and remember vividly the first game that those assholes starting chanting "you suck" in the middle of the O-E-O song. We were playing Arizona and it was sometime late in the first quarter when it started. I tried my best to shut the idiots up, but the you suck chant spread like a cancer. Although, I think you can argue that the student section's decline is just following in trend with the general decline of ALL fans in Tiger Stadium. Leaving in the middle of the 3rd quarter of an undecided game just so you can beat the traffic is pathetic.

I've been coming to LSU games since I was 9. I'm a student now and I agree... the student section needs to quit adding gay crap (ESPECIALLY GET RID OF THE FRICKIN "WOOO" ON SECOND DOWN!)

I know I'm a noob but my 2 cents thinks that it's because of the people (esp dumb girls) that go just to go and not because they like football. Some of those people just get so trashed before the game they don't even understand what's going on and just barf all over the place or pass out. But as a current student, the people that really like LSU football are always there in full force and you can tell who those people are.

The loudest I have ever heard it was the Florida game last yr. Place went absolute nuts after we scored and they announced USC had lost!

This was my most proud moment as a Tiger fan. It was an unreal feeling to say "man, we're down, but we're not out! WE CAN STILL DO THIS!", and without saying anything to anyone, having thousands of people agree with you by starting the chant before you can finish the thought
Let's do it again, Tiger fans! Beat UGA!!

FACT.

This has been happening for year. In the past though, instead of passing out after barfing, they would stand up, wipe off their mouth, launch their drink, and continue with the screaming!

Do me a favor then, and run off the other ones

He's right about the cussin in the cheers. It's hard to bring your children to games and coax them to cheer with the crowd saying "Kick That arse". We really need to examine ourselves as a fanbase, sometimes.

Its football...its college....this isn't futbol in Europe or something...give me a break.."examine ourselves as a fanbase"

I HIGHLY AGREE! I get chills just thinking about it. I was yelling so hard and intensely that my back had a spasm and I had to calm my arse down.

it's a good thing you've never taken your child to a Wisconsin game where they chant Eat Sh*t and F*ck You back and forth like we do Geaux Tigers.
Or wherever it is in the Big Ten where they yell "Rip his f*ckin head off" on every kick off.

Damn...parents are pussies
No wonder all of our kids are pussified. They're in the 20's before they hear any curse words
