Major difference. The crowd does that independently on their own. If the band plays neck and people chant then the school is endorsing it.

It's a fricking Beyonce song... can't be ruined any more than it already is. A chant probably actually improves song quality.

I think this is a great step in the right direction. Next, the students need to adapt the chant to the piped-in music.

What are they going to do ( administration) not let the band play? It’s stupid. The chant is stupid but bigger is the admin trying to control what any fan says at a game by taking songs away. Just give it up and ignore it.

They could play it after the game when the TV cameras are cut off. That’s an easy way to keep fans in the seats. If you want to hear neck you have to stay all 4 quarters.

Answer, they have it ready for EVERY GAME. The drum major has the power to signal it whenever he wants, however he knows the ramifications of playing the song so it is used very sparingly.
