Stafford might be the best pro prospect in all of college football who could enter the 2009 NFL Draft.

Many Sports Writers think Armanti Edwards is better than Pat White. To me the obvious difference between the two is Edwards is a much better passer than White.

dont think this helps your argument

quote:

"He could play at any school in the United States," said Moore. "He's not going to go to West Virginia and beat that guy [Pat White] out there, he's not going to go to Florida and beat that guy [Tebow] out there. But another school in that same league, he could go play."

And you cite the loveofsports.com?

Then you cite an article where HIS OWN COACH says:

quote:

He's not going to go to West Virginia and beat that guy [Pat White] out there, he's not going to go to Florida and beat that guy [Tebow] out there.

Let me guess, you are not an attorney by trade?

Apparently his own coach has other throughts.

People also seem to want to remember him slashing Michigan with his run game... he didnt average 4 yards a carry (17 carries for 62 yards). Wofford held him to under 40 yards on 11 carries while winning and Ga Southern picked him twice when beating him.

Yes he looks good running against Brenham High School, er I mean Richmond and on the youtube clip there once was a defender within 5 yards of one of his receivers on his passes... amazing

I am not saying he is not a decent QB, but to say he matches up to a Pat White who goes against real football players more then once a year is atrocious.

You figure Wolford holds Pat White to under 40 yards.... rigggghhhhtttttt

Against the crap you guys play against week in and week out, I sure the heck would expect a all world QB to have more then 3550 yards total offense, even if he is banged up for a few games.

Edwards is generously listed at 6'0" 178 pounds. Very generously. That listing would make him several pounds lighter than the 185ish pound Pat White.

Obviously beaten down by the Michigan defense, Edwards struggled mightily throughout the season as App struggled all year, dropping two games before going on to win the title.

Keep in mind this is against the hulking mammoths of Wofford, Georgia Southern, Elon, and Western Carolina—just to name a few of the grinders he was going through.

Edwards, at a division one FBS program would spend more time in the training room than Gilbert Brown spent at the dinner table. Whether it's the Big East, the ACC, or SEC the caliber of player would send the spindly legged quarterback to the cold tub, if not the hospital, quite quickly.

Yes he beat Michigan, but could he stand to play Michigan every week? Please don't kid yourself into thinking that he can.

Throwing fuel on the argument is this crazy idea that if he had Florida's talent he could better Tebow's season from 2007. People actually think this—again, I'm just the messenger. I let the people speak and I listen.

Edwards is a really good I-AA quarterback. He's amazing to watch scoot around the field, but in Tim Tebow, barring injury, we're witnessing one of the greatest college football players of all time. Tebow is an animal that the sport has never seen before and he keeps getting better.

Another branch of this testament to Edwards' greatness is the idea that Edwards might pick up and take his show to the NFL after the season as a junior.

Yes people from Appalachian State are actually worried Edwards might bolt for the pros after he performs yet another unbelievable upset, single handedly pimp slapping around all of Division I-A to steal the Heisman from all the FBS worthy candidates. But then again, when you're better than Tebow and White, that's how you roll I guess.

I just felt like linking this article again because it is pretty funny ... and appropriate to the conversation.

You people seem to forget that App st. plays one team from 1A ball a season. A QB with a little talent could look like a superstar in the division they compete in. IMO Andre Woodson and Ainge were both more impressive last season than he was in the one game I saw him play in

JPW is difficult to guage. He is by far one of the toughest QBs in the college game. He bounced up after Laron laid him out. I gotta respect that. He just tried to do too much last year and wound up making poor decisions and getting his team in deeper trouble. Can you really fault a guy for trying? How the hell would stafford do with Bammers o-line?

I am amazed at this thread.

The article above is terrible, and the some of the points made are so far fetched all credibility is lost.

Armanti better than Tebow....seriously, who said that. Someone that has never watched either.

the bad games against wofford and GSU

against wofford he was hurt and only played a half. GSU was his first game back, setbacks are expected...sure his numbers would be better if he ran all the time but that isn't gonna happen, he is actually a pretty good passer.

I am amazed at these people that have seen him play once if at all then automatically think they know...yeaaaaa

I am not saying Armanti is the 2nd best QB you will play. He is the second best spread QB you will play.

Just like what the guy from Michigan said

Who would you be more worried about Armanti Edwards or Jevan Snead?
