That style would not last in this league....

Why not...all the speed you guys have.

and with that O Line

That style is what EVERYONE is going to now, the spread maximizes speed...the SEC is known for Speed so why then would it not work

by the way Armanti is not 178...more like 190

he came in at 160 and has been getting bigger every year
do you think Armanti Edwards with 15 lbs added would take LSU to another Championship if he was your starting QB?

Every QB can score and make something happen on any play. Even the worst QB will hit a bomb every now and then.

Who would you be more worried about Armanti Edwards or Jevan Snead?
I am amazed at this thread.

The article above is terrible, and the some of the points made are so far fetched all credibility is lost.

Armanti better than Tebow....seriously, who said that. Someone that has never watched either.

the bad games against wofford and GSU

against wofford he was hurt and only played a half. GSU was his first game back, setbacks are expected...sure his numbers would be better if he ran all the time but that isn't gonna happen, he is actually a pretty good passer.

I am amazed at these people that have seen him play once if at all then automatically think they know...yeaaaaa

I am not saying Armanti is the 2nd best QB you will play. He is the second best spread QB you will play.

Just like what the guy from Michigan said

re: APP STATE Trick Plays????

We tried one last year against michigan ended up just being a run

We run a lot of reverses

You may see a WR pass if anything, CoCo Hillary was a higher rated QB than Armanti out of high school
2nd best QB you play....that is tough to say

You can't really make this argument for anyone other than Tebow...It is just different types of Offense. Armanti runs the spread as good as anyone in the country. His reads are easy to make and quick routes make the key to his passing game...some of the biggest plays we have are when he starts running around, you know the old fashion no no no yes yes yes play

Stafford and Crompton are great passers but it is so hard to compare a QB with such different styles...the argument can be made for either.

It is hard enough to find the best QB on your own team...

there are 2 QBs in college football that can score and make something happen on any play. Pat White and Armanti Edwards.

Armanti hasn't played a defense as fast as LSU, and I am very excited about this game, Les Miles and Jerry Moore are gonna have these guys ready to play.

man that is a terrible rumor that is getting around all over the place.
some of those are pretty good...

some are stretching a little far
Pierre banks looks more like theo huckstable than armanti does...

rod chisolm looks a lot like rod gardner, but I can't get a picture from my phone.
I don't think our school would be satisfied with getting pounded every year just to make a few extra bucks...

But I see your point about the money is better....until stadium upgrades are done we aren't making enough money to be FBS.

also we already have 2 games on ESPN this season and one of them is at home...who new you beat mechagan and you get all this extra publicity...
lots of conferences have double mascots....SEC for example

Auburn and LSU

MSU and Georgia
I am not at all saying that we shouldn't ever move up.

I think several teams in the southern conference should move up...GSU being one of those.

I just don't think we should move up to the sunbelt.

CUSA maybe

but I still think we are a few years away from those conferences giving us a bid.

There is nowhere to go up if we stay at the FCS level and continue to be the best.

FBS is in the future but I would like to see us wait 2-3 years after we could become eligible anyway. 6 or 7 years total

of course they are bama fans...
Appalachian would be stupid to move up and it is NOT happening soon.

why go from contending in a national championship every year to playing in the podunk cottonelle toilet paper bowl at the end of the season.

as far as money making goes we have the highest attendance in the FCS and make the most money.

We still don't have that big of a stadium. We need to do several things before a jump to FCS would happen. The track needs to be taken out and the field level dropped to allow more seats...like BYU and OSU have done in the past.

We also need more hotels and making it more accessible to get into Boone.

We will not jump to a small conference, it makes no sense for us...We are already beating those schools in recruiting because there just isn't much appeal for those low conferences.

Being better in the FCS is MUCH better than being middle of the road in FBS.

if/when we move up it will be only if we have an offer from a prestigious conference...ie ACC/Big East.

But a lot needs to be done before that happens, including the other sports being contenders, which we are on our way.
I don't think it was bad...I understand the warning, but I do kinda see how it goes without saying.

Unfortunately a few people on here have made many of you LSU fans look at App differently than you should. Every school has them.
they changed the system...last year we had the pictures posted without having to click on the player.
I wouldn't worry about us stomping on the Eye...

not very sportsman like, and Jerry Moore would probably be pretty upset.
I remember when that was going around...

Don't worry....Most App fans would never say something like that, it was a horrible disaster that set the area and economy back a good bit.

If they bring it up down therE I will help you beat there arse!

All things being equal, then it can be said that LSU isn't even the best team in their conference. They just got good the past 5 years. ALABAMA is the powerhouse in that conference and will be. Will 10 BCS National Championships (non-playoff style) and then you could be considered the Best in the SEC. Win 13 BCS National Championships and we'll consider you for the Best in I-A.

It doesn't matter which is historically the best.

until someone beats them LSU is the best...just like app is in the FCS.

Those points above seem pretty valid...the playmakers that Appalachian has have the ability to break those long plays. LSU is very fast and it certainly won't be easy.

As far as the trick plays go...we have a WR who came in as a higher rated QB recruit than Armanti in CoCo Hillary

I agree that we will need a big special teams play if we are going to win, but not necessarily to keep it close...

I think we have to be on our A game or it could get away pretty quick

our team has come a LONG way since those south carolina games...This is not the same team

your point is valid, but just like south carolina was Terrible then...we weren't the top FCS school either.
