It has to be like that to make up for lost ad space that was on the other scoreboard. It'll be like in the first pic whenever they put up the other one.

That is bullshite. There were 4 ads on that scoreboard. They've added the Team LSU sponsors all over most exposed concrete in the sidelines. LSU is full of shite on that one.

They might as well line the inside walls if the stadium like they do at Alex Box and have a full video screen. I can't believe with all the damn money LSU football makes that the university is that dependent on sponsors in the first place.

It looks like shite

How far will it be before we see ads painted onto the field? On the Tiger uniforms?

I seriously thought with the thread title, the OP was gonna have a scoreboard showing the score from maybe the '12 Auburn game and last night's scoreboard.

Let's not beat around the bush. It's a fricking billboard.

is it for sure permanent ads?
They are digital, but they did not change the entire game.

AD probably testing to see how upset fans get, and will keep it that way if they can

I'm surprised that LSU hasn't already tried this. The basketball court has Cox logos on it, so why not the football field?

I'm not sure if this is legal, but if it is, Alleva will find a way to do it. We'll also have individual sections of Tiger Stadium sponsored by different groups, the band will have a corporate sponsor, so that every time they are announced it will be the "Capital One Bank Golden Band from Tigerland", or some such bullshite. Hell, the damn program is nothing but a giant collection of ads with minimal info about the teams.

Are those ads digital

That's the thing that I don't get. Why waste display screen space on ads that never change. Make them a damn back lit canvas billboard. You can't tell me that its that hard, and from someone sitting in the stadium, you certainly can't tell the difference.

i just read this in another thread so take it with a grain of salt.

LSU oversold its advertising so they are using digital ads on the board for this year, but it should be big next year...... no clue if there is any truth to that

18 total ads - 10 that have been physically applied to the speakers, and 8 that are digitized.

Beyond pathetic.

At least the ridiculous ads will finally shine a light on LSU's whoring out of tackiness ads. There are ways to sell out to advertisers that aren't as tacky as what we have to put up with.

Be innovative about it. Make some of those overpaid marketing employees worth their salary.

I kind of like the idea of an organized boycott of the scoreboard advertisers.

I was at the game, the picture posted in the OP is 100% accurate of how the board stayed during the game, not just during pregame, etc. It looked pretty terrible, was a bit disappointed that the new and improved scoreboard is nothing more than a new and improved billboard.

I was at the game as well, I just don't care that much I guess.

Texas Scoreboard has Closed Captioning, which is a major plus.
