Can we replace "richest" with "wealthiest"?
I know some lawyers that act as if they get paid by the word, but by the syllable?

When I hear the word "rich", I think about Billy Bob sitting in his trailor located in Livingston Parish screaming "I'M RICH" when he wins $100,000 via the lottery.

I don't think it's my place to be that personal with names and such, but if there is a particular reason you need to know, I can send you an e-mail.

Some rich people do not want to be in the public eye and don't want to draw attention to themselves in part due to non-stop solicitation, lawsuits, and the like.
And no, I am definitely not talking about myself.

I have to agree.
Jim Flores was in the top 5 of top paid CEO's in Houston last year. No telling what his net worth is...he has created and sold i think 2 oil companies and is now the CEO at PXP.
Sure can't miss that big FLORES MBA off the interstates.

Patrick F. Taylor (deceased), "rich" beyond dollar signs
Patrick F. Taylor (1937 - November 6, 2004) was an American businessman, who was founder and CEO of the independent oil company Taylor Energy.
Taylor graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in petroleum engineering. After working for independent oilman John W. Mecom, Sr., he established a consulting company. Along with Mecom, he founded the Circle Bar Drilling company in the 1970s. After Circle Bar was sold, he started Taylor Energy.
Taylor had a strong interest in education and humanitarian causes. He developed and promoted the "Taylor Plan", adopted in Louisiana in 1989, which provides academically qualified students with state-paid tuition to college.
In 2004, Taylor was named to the Forbes 400, a list compiled by Forbes magazine of the 400 richest Americans.
In 2007, a building on the LSU campus was renamed in honor of Taylor and all his accomplishments.

Guys we have 2 grads in the top 5 highest paid executives in all of Houston. LSU boasts Flores(Landman) at PXP who makes I believe 13.5 a year. He also has a 150 million dollar severance package. We also have Clearance Clazot(sp)(Geologist) ceo of Marathon Oil.
