Man, look at the face of Alleva and others in that photo that came with the article.

They were disgusted.

Alleva probably won't get canned. I'm sure he will be looking for another job starting Monday.

OTOH, maybe he will want to stick around to have the satisfaction of eventually getting rid of Miles.

pects and demands that its football team be nothing less than a champion. Unfortunately, fans at LSU expect and demand less.

Except for the fact it took them nearly 30 years to get what they demanded. Except for a few nice seasons under coaches that came and went, excellence didn't return until Saban luckily fell in their laps. They literally did nothing to bring about that excellence except fire another bad coaching hire.

Shouldn't boosters get to decide where their money goes to? If they want to spend their own money on the LSU football program then let them - its their money. I bet the money that was going to be used for a buyout will not all of a sudden be donated to the Math Department.

You have to understand the Marxist/Socialist mindset. All money is collective, and there's no private money or private property.

Did you read the article?????? F. King Alexander is the douche arse that worked this.

Just because thehayride.com said so with no proof? Not saying it can't be true but I'd put my money on Alleva screwing this up.

Yes, boosters can freely use the money how they want, but they are making an investment for the university. The athletic department does contribute to academics, but there's a reason boosters can't lure athletes with their own money. It's the big picture at stake. It sends a message to everyone (alumini and Louisiana residents) at a academic and athletic level what the school prioritizes overall.

This is a political state and there are politics always involved in everything that has state money in it.

The bottom line is CLM gets another year with a short leash, Aleva's leash is even shorter. He was trusted to close the deal and he got out negotiated- The higher ups made the decision to control the damage and clean up his mess.

We live for another year.

Remember its just football. There are so many things in life way more important.

Time for all of us move on.

One thing this article clearly describes is why there is no such thing as a sidewalk fan. All of you daddy's money fraternity pussies need to pay attention to the part about the state budget funding. The taxpayers fund every public universities. If a sidewalk fan is less of a fan then don't take his money!

While true, whether right or wrong, football is the lifeblood and backbone of most universities.

For most schools, do away with the football program and you will see your university quickly become a shell of its former self.

Good place for him. The new "Governor" needs to worry less about Les and more about what he's going to do.

Scott McKay has been questionable at best throughout the past 5 years with anything that comes into question with the athletic department. He had Jamie Dixon signed sealed and delivered with the last bball search. This article is full of "if this story is true then" conclusions. None of this acknowledges that by all accounts the day before the game it was widely said that the jimbo deal fell through.

I do believe that f king may have stepped in. Only because joes incompetence with handling the media. If this had been managed appropriately and the Lsu name wasn't being tarnished tarred and feathered nationally that we would be in the middle of a coaching search right now. We might have an ad search soon though.

Listen to 756. It's obvious there was no Plan B.

Also, I strongly believe that booster leaks sunk this deal before it ever had a chance.

I agree that football (or other popular college sports) is the lifeblood of the school, but it's not the backbone. It isn't called Louisiana State Football University. Can't have the athletes compete without passing classes.

Hell, Tulane is the best university in the state and it has a cruddy football program. But that doesn't stop people from making Tulane a phenomenal academic institution.

great, back to an era where the administration thinks they are smart yet are actually very short sighted. Hopefully this arse goes away very soon.
