Stud basically did Miles a solid when Krag got sick and took over as OC from his OL position. But even when they brought Cam in, Stud went back to OL coach for a year before being fired. He was never fired as offensive coordinator. He was always just a placeholder anyway and everyone knew that.

That's insane to me. At 11-1, the offense will have been good enough to win ELEVEN games!

But not good enough to win 12 right?

He looked a little more than a placeholder when we kept him for another year. Iprograms don’t keep stop gaps around for multiple years.

He was about as much a placeholder as Ed was in 2016. If the plan was to move on we would have done it in 2012, but we gave him a chance based on a strong 2011 and the hope that our offense would improve with Mett.

He was OL coach since 2007 so we didn’t let him go completely but clearly it was a demotion based on performance and the. He bailed after a year.

What does this even mean?

You know what it means.

Can you list some of these excuses?

We are young at "insert position"
Our offensive line was hurt all season
If we only had better QB play
Ensminger just needs more time to install his offense
Just wait til next year when we have ________
On and on and on

Coach O just finished his second full season.

He coached 9 games in his first year. Not to mention he had already been on staff. It's not like he was new. He's been the head coach of this team for 34 games now.

quote:

Why would he not be given the same consideration that any other coaching hire would be given?

Because LSU was already a perennial 8-9 win team. After 34 games, they quite literally have made ZERO progress since the previous staff.

LSU also wasn't/isn't some crap program that was in shambles. They were a massively underachieving program considering their talent and resources. It was on poor coaching then and it's on poor coaching now.

They're in the process of signing an excellent recruiting class. The future actually looks good.

How many years in a row now have we heard this?
We always have stellar recruiting classes and the next season always looks promising. Then LSU wins 8-9 games and we have the same discussion at the end of the next year...then the next...then the year after that.

I hope LSU wins every game for the next 30 years. But, they have done little to convince me as a fan that they will win 11+ games let alone sniff any sort of title anytime soon. Right now, they are 8-4/9-3 university to anyone who is objective. Don't want people to think of your team that way? Go win your division. Go win your conference. This is LSU, not Vandy or Tennessee. We shouldn't be excited for 8-9 wins.
