Emery was not impressed with matt Canada but he loved Steve Ensminger’s offense.
Mickey Jospeh went to high school with his dad and prior to LSU he got emery jr’s niece into a good school and he wrote letters to Emery jr’s brother in jail.
I know they are not liked here on the rant but they helped get Emery jr to LSU.

Awesome story. Crazy how these high profile athletes like the coaching staff and see the progress. Yet you have a bunch of middle aged fat guys who put the coaching staff down every chance they get.

Nobody dislikes them as people or recruiters. They are just not great coaches. Sounds like they did a good job recruiting Emery.

And none of that mattered until he realized there were 4 RBs in front of him next year.

Look at the interviews with the Emerys. The switch actually makes no sense at all to me if you look at the timeline. It isn’t as if he shouldn’t have known about the players in front of him

Crazy how no other FBS program is giving these guys a shot. Man, they should reevaluate how they perform coaching searches. The old Plan A and then go all in on Plan B thing is surely working out for LSU

Idiot Rantards really do know what's best. ha ha ha !!!

Recruits should listen to them and not evaluate film and such.

Crazy how the above post makes no sense and isn't relevant.

Joseph get shite on but he’s brought in some big time recruits.

We hired a Million year old WR coach and got no better results, so I think The rant needs to pay off the guy.

Realistically I think Selling a run heavy offense, with no stars at RB, with a history of putting RBs in the NFL isn’t the hardest sell, but I am Glad we got him here no matter what’s

With limits on how many coaches schools can hire, there’s near constant tension between technicians and recruiters.

Me? I’d like to see great technicians at WR and OL coach positions... those are the two biggest spots of need at LSU. I’ve seen too much poor pass blocking and route running over the past 5 years.

Let me break it down for you, pal

1. Poster on TD bashes other TD posters because they are critical of Joseph and Steve Ensminger. He feels that the evaluation of HS recruits and families is enough for him to believe in the coaching staff, rather than results on the field.

2. Poster on TD (me) states that no other program in FBS is lifting a finger to hire Steve Ensminger as an OC (Hell, he doesn't even want to be OC, Orgeron had to beg him twice), and that evaluation by other FBS programs, and even peers in the SEC is enough for me to believe that they are failures. That's not even including the performance on the field. performance on the field just reassures me that they are failures

Lets not be critical of them because they are "LSU Guys". Lets ignore the on field performance against peers. 5th in the SEC behind Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and A&M

Who ever said we had coaches that didn't know how to recruit?

If nothing else our coaches can recruit.

Failures is way too strong of a word. I get not thinking they are the best coaches or even right for LSU, but LSU could not be in a NY6 bowl if they were truly failures.

I've always said that a retard could recruit a top 10 class at LSU. It's the actual talent development that has been missing.

I should have knocked on wood

Bottom half of the conference in offense. Top half of the conference in offensive talent. That's failure

They finished 5 in the SEC, 3rd in the west. Lets not pretend that A&M wouldn't have been in this spot had they played Miami instead of Clemson. LSU didn't outperform their pre-season expectations. The teams on the schedule were just not as good as everyone thought.

Yep. If we were just gonna judge coaches on recruiting abilities we could have just kept Miles.

If we were going to be satisfied with 9 win seasons, we should have just kept Miles
