Aranda is going to be feeling out Bama. He may try blitzes, stunts, lord knows what all he has in his bag of tricks. But we have to have backup plans.

You can’t get upset with Aranda without getting upset with O. I mean he is the HC and green lights all schemes and game plans. Don’t people realize that if O thought they should be blitzing more that they would in fact blitz more??

The only thing the rant will be upset about tomorrow night is the fact that the score board page will be getting all of the attention with so many amazing Tiger Celebratory posts after the game.

Need a plan like Aranda ran his last year at Wisconsin: stunts, blitzes, pandoneum!

ZERO confidence in Aranda. If he plays that soft zone shite, they will bust the clock. Book it.

The Green package has actually been pretty good and in general we’ve gotten better

We went from 34.43% in September and 30.5 in October.

The secret in the industry is that Tua has happy feet and gets the yips in the pocket after his first read.

As long as he’s thinking back there whatever you run. Keep him guessing.

Bama is gonna make our defense look bad. We are gonna keep it close for a while and hopefully pull ahead like we did vs Texas. But it’s gonna take special teams and turnovers to get there. I can’t envision our defense winning this game.

Indirectly to your point, I have noticed a marked improvement in our guys getting their hands up at the line of scrimmage. If we can't get to them in time, don't rush just to rush. (bat that shite down!)

The pressure packages have to be timed right and effective when called. And you have to have a few plays where they think it's coming and it doesnt. It isnt about teeing off. It's just timing those calls right.

I think Dave will try Tua early with a few blitzes to test mobility, then take it from there.
It's quite possible Saban will keep throws short, which is his MO this year anyway, to lessen exposure to QB hits, and excessive blitzing would play right into his hands.

Soft zone prevent type defense with little, if any at all, pressure on the AL QB.
And let's pray that our red zone defense can hold them to field goals because our red zone and short yardage offense against AU was atrocious.

If they are throwing the short slants successfully it doesn’t matter how many guys we send, we won’t get to Tua before the ball is in the air. Priority #1 should be disrupting the short passing game. If we get them into 2nd- or 3rd-and-long, then MAYBE it makes sense to send 5+ every now and then. But it’s dangerous even in those situations - their receivers have shown they have the ability convert a 3rd and 10 on a 4 yard slant.

I expect the defensive wrinkles to be more focused on mixing up man/zone concepts and disguising coverages than blitz packages. As stated, 90% of the score board won’t understand that at all and will bitch about the vanilla game plan. Water is wet.

I wonder if that may bait Tua into running and, thereby, exposing himself to getting dinged...

Please... and I mean PLEASE, DO NOT kick it to Waddle. He can flip field position instantly. Special teams will be key in this game.

We’ll bring it early in hopes to hit him with some sort of significance and then it’ll turn into dropping ends into coverage.

Repeat.

I think anyone looking for our defense to blitz a lot and cause “havoc” is going to be very upset with Aranda tomorrow. I personally don’t think we send very many guys to blitz Tua

I think it's a shite idea anyway. He's been the most blitzed QB in the country since he got the starting job. Why would you base your gameplan on an aspect of the game in which he historically has excelled? That simplifies his reads.

It's stupid to change a gameplan off of an assumption (that he won't have adequate mobility). Have to be able to get pressure with the linemen. That's how you beat them.
