Because remembering something random from 5 months ago totally shows you're above it.
Right on Lester.
ETA: Not to mention the fact that you reply to me in every single thread as well. I mean, the irony you constantly bring when you try to put people down is astounding.

Right. You just happened to read a thread that had the exact content of the current one. Totally believable.

What's wrong with wanting our results to improve?
I don't think the head football coach is complacent with his results. Why are you?
I think he would tell you himself that he wants to have the #1 class. What wrong with holding him to that, seeing that he has no major collateral duties? Additionally, this particular coaching staff needs the best players if we want to make a serious run at a championship.
I'm sorry you see wanting the best for LSU as something negative. And it's a shame that you don't have more confidence that they can achieve what I know they can.

To complain about the recruiting this year puts you in the category of the pro Orgeron extremist that have been in this thread, just in the opposite spectrum.
Not complaining about the class. Just said that the results need to improve if we want to seriously compete for championships. Do you disagree?
It's not fair that we just got the #4 class and we're still looking up at an uphill battle to win the SEC West, and yet that's the reality. In any other year the 4th class would be good for second in the SEC. This year it's good for 4th. That's the strength of the SEC right now.
If we want to be exactly where Les Miles had us then we're right on track for that, pretty good but a tier below special. Nothing wrong with that. Having a special program means we have to ask our coaches to do what's very difficult.

you think the coaches don't know what a difficult task it is to win the SEC and NC. The coaches know it, the fans know it, the media knows it, everyone knows it is not easy to win the SEC. Of course everyone is happy with the class we have but that doesn't mean they aren't shooting for an even better one. Why are you being such a bitch about it?
Posted on 12/21/18 at 10:08 pm to boxcar willie
I don't know if some of the fans do know how hard it is. After all, these are the same ones that said any idiot can win 10 games at LSU. And it's the same ones that are giving me shite in this thread for saying that we actually need to be better if this recruiting landscape becomes the norm in the SEC.
Again, I know it's a tough ask but being special is tough. I don't know why you guys are so eager to give the football coach a pat on the back. Do you think this is the best he can do? If you think 4th best recruiting class in the SEC is the best he can do just say so.
This is what he was supposed to do. Now we need him to go above and beyond. I expect great things from him.

If we are talking strictly recruiting results, then yes I disagree. If Orgeron recruits at this level every year then he will have the talent brought in to consistently be in the playoff picture.

As I've said before, the difference between the #1 and #4 class is not a major difference. It is certainly not enough to excuse LSU from losing game due to lack of talent.

no they give you shite because you come off like an arse and constantly criticize the staff and give them no credit despite the success they have had this past season and with this recruiting class. Of course everyone wants them to continue building the program to even higher levels. No one is satisfied with where we are at and everyone wants continued growth and higher levels of achievement.

Let them learn bro. They love O, let them have their moment. Next year, ask them why?

we need to continue to string together solid recruiting classes like this and get the talent level back up to where it use to be and we can get back in the playoff picture.

there is a pretty big difference in the recruiting classes the #1 (bama) is going to pull in this season and what the #2 ( Georgia) is pulling in. There is also going to be a pretty big gap between #2 and #3. But the difference between #3,4,5 and 6 isn't that much.
quote:but yes your point still stands (for the most part against most teams anyway I don't see us closing in on Bama any time soon but they still manage to lose to teams with lessor talent most seasons)
It is certainly not enough to excuse LSU from losing game due to lack of talent.

I agree, I think he can get there and like what I have seen from him so far. I think many are under estimating him.

I think it's smart especially considering the backlash when Coach O was hired. It doesn't bother me either way honestly, certainly not enough to suggest what you're suggesting.

I posted my post only having read half of the OP’s post and none other. It’s the less the substance than the timing. Anyone who feels the need to start this thread on a Friday night, the day after a great recruiting class, well, quite honestly, I think the world would be better of without that kind.
And I could give a shite about Ed Orgeron save for the fact that he’s currently the head football coach of the LSU Tigers, and therefore, by default, though I may not predict it, I wish him ultimate success. It is the very spirit of posts like the OP’s that find so repugnant.

Yep. All the new accounts on here since the end of 2016, over 90% being complete sunshine pumpers, doesn't give it away at all. You're on here enough to know what an alter is. It's been record numbers since O was hired. Again, a smart strategy and I seriously doubt LSU is the only school doing those types of things.

We all agree with this. A good season followed up by and outstanding recruiting class with plenty of room to improve doesn't make me think of that stuff for sure. Any sort of improvement on offense could very well improve us to 11 wins next season.

Have you seen Bama's class?
It's a historically great class. I think it's quite possibly their best ever. 4 years from now you're going to see them sub in their second team defensive line and we're going to say they can start for most teams in the country.
UGA last year, historically great class. Sooner or later, we're going to need the historically great class. No reason why the football coach here can't get it done. Recruiting is his calling card.
Now just because we haven't landed that class, doesn't give us an excuse to not score a point on Bama, or to lose to UF and A&M. Both the recruiting and the coaching needs to improve. I'm much more optimistic that the recruiting is where this staff can make its biggest impact. I see no reason why we can't put together a historically great class like UGA did last season. This year is a hell of an improvement from last season, but he has to keep it up.
