Thankful for the win.

Offensive line ... bad

Running game ... bad

Jefferson's progress ... good

Season turnover margin ... excellent

Defense ... ok

Special teams miscues ... unacceptable.

real season starts this week.

I have never doubted you in the least. In fact, I consider you the most knowledgable LSU and football fan that I know.

Although I think the defense is not playing great just yet, I'm not as concerned with the defense as I am with the offense.

Our defense as a whole is not as lethal as in some previous years, but asking them to be out on the field for 85 plays a game doesn't help things. Get it down to 55-65 plays and we'll see (or think we see) better defense from the Tigers.

I totally agree, and ironically a big part of making that happen falls on our offense.

During that preseason stretch, our offense has been able to only muster a 105th ranking among 120 schools and the defense is ranked 49th among 120 schools. I hope they spend some extra time in practice.

My point too. I'm calling it "the o-line domino effect": poor o-line play ultimately leads to overworked defense.

I think he missed the fact that Miss. State had 4 turnovers. We won b/c in crunch time Miss St. stopped giving the ball to Dixon.

We also gave them a touchdown instead of 2, missed a field goal when we had first and goal, missed and extra point that would have been the difference in the game, ran into their kicker to extend a drive...

Miss State moved the ball damn well in crunch time, so...what?

I like that quote a lot. Hopefully the team will hear all the talking heads shitting on us and saying how overrated we are and come out just on FIRE next week

The talking heads are almost always wrong. There are only two people I ever listen to on ESPN... Peter Gammons (He's such a Sawx homer it isn't even funny) and Matt Berry (because he's hilarious)... when your only job is to talk about sports, you tend to over think things.

So you are basically saying the first four games were gimme's and all this 4-0 talk is non-sense.

agreed

Well, it would be non sense, but seeing as no one else in college football seems to be able to put together consecutive wins, it certainly has become a decent talking point.

Better than LSU!!! Remember LSU only scored 17 on O. MSU totaly outplayed LSU!!! Some mistakes at the end cost them the game. Finding a way to win aginst a team that you have 10 times the talent is a failure. I am tired of hearing about the weather and all that shite. MSU played in the same weather and carved up LSU for 374 yards.

Might want to watch that film again.

We didn't play well and up to my standards, but we win by 17+ if we can snap the ball on special teams. You don't beat a team by 17+ when the other team "outplays" you. (snap over punter's head, botched snap on PAT, botched chip shot FG, free safety at the end of the game ... you do the math).

LSU is the reason LSU was in a close game Saturday. mississippi state didn't have anything to do with it ... they couldn't pass the ball, and struggled running it until the fourth quarter. They were able to stop our run game by loading up the box (good for them!), and we torched them in the passing game with a 19-year old quarterback who supposedly couldn't stretch the field vertically coming into the game. They got lucky on a couple of busted pass plays where the QB was running for his life, but yeah they certainly "outplayed" us.

Did the play over their head a little bit? Possibly. But to claim they outplayed us makes it obvious you've only watched the game once, and live at that.

And that is what happened.

Thats not what I said at all. The offense ONLY scored 17 points. If you have to rely on special teams to score for a team that WANTS to be a contender than you have a problem.

And it will be the same way all year.

My posts never fail, because I'm actually a rational fan.

When we beat Georgia this week, I'll have to bring everyone "down" next week because the national title talk will heat up again, which will be just as ridiculous as people thinking the roof is caving in on the program after only four games played.

Things are never as good as they seem, and they're never as bad as they seem. This phrase pretty much always holds true. Test it out.
